Here's another senseless killing of a family pet by police. http://www.willitsnews.com/ci_15676209?source=most_viewed This type of thing is increasing more and more.. And it is very sickening. She was fenced in on her front porch. Why can't these people just ask that someone tie up the dog? Kill first and then they don't even find anything! This baby died ALONE for nothing?! For NOTHING?! And then they threw stuff on top of her body? What kind of sickos are these cops taht do not respect life? Ugh I have seen so many of these lately it is just making me sick!

And they always have a perfectly good reason why they had to do it, don't they? Sad...

Yea, somewhere in there twisted deluded minds.. did you see my post last week of the husky shot in a dog park by an off duty cop? They weren't even going to investigate it except for the community and the media uproar.. It's all over the net and facebook now.

Are the officers not getting the correct punishment for something like this? I mean if a long unpaid suspension hung over the heads of the officers during an animal killing with a possible fired if the investigation comes to the conclusion the shooting was unnecessary, then I think there'd be less pets shot..I have 2 puppies who if I were a stranger would freak me out, but the neighbors all know they are nothing but fluff balls..I can't imagine an officer coming in and shooting my pups, unless they did something to them because Penny is high strung, but she's never been in a threatening situation..Which brings another thought,if an officer threatens a dog, (Ever seen Beethoven where the vet made the dog attack him?) then that officer should be fired immediately and that is just the beginning of what I think should happen to them.. ...

The right punishment? they are getting NO punishment. They cry self defense even when a dog is shot in the back and running away. As I have seen in two other articles I have read. Actually one of those.. the owners went and video taped the officer that shot their dog at the precinct.. they asked him why he shot their dog and he said because he didn't have the time to waste. After only 20 minutes, and he shot her in front of children that knew her and told him she was not mean. I can't find that particular video.. but here is another one.. I just discovered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGr_-1qKGE4

Oh my goodness minx! That is utterly disgraceful. I love dogs and wish I could have one but where I live, they are not permitted. That is so, so sad. And to disrespect it by throwing stuff on the poor dog? Those are what you call heartless cops

I know.. I have seen to many of these stories recently - one I just watched yesterday they came and served a warrant for someone who didn't even live at that address. They pepper sprayed the dog that was chained outside. OF course that made him go nuts and he broke his chain and they shot him. By the time the owner got home an hour later they had already removed his dog's body and never gave it back to him. they told him they cremated it and that was that. The man was in tears because he would have at least like to have buried his dog in his favorite spot in the yard. How could they be so heartless. First to torture it with pepper spray (when it was leashed) then kill it and if that's not bad enough. just get rid of his body like the rest of the trash. Horrible. And there seems to be nothing we can do about it..

There are leash laws for a reason. If people had their dogs on leashes and were obeying the laws then these dogs wouldn't run up to policemen snarling and acting aggressive and then the policeman would not feel a reason to shoot to try and protect themselves from a dog they do not know.

Doesn't sound like it. I was merely trying to make a point. That point being that there are usually two sides to every story. Doesn't sound like that is the case here. I just get so tired of everybody getting on the police lately. They do have a job to do. And many of them are good hearted professionals. I hope that justice is done in these cases though.

It's so sad to hear another 'dog shoot by a cop' story. I'm afraid this cop will not pay for his killing. They said it was self-defence! Of course the dogs were barking, they were protecting their property. I don't know what the police procedures are, but I think it would have been more human to ask the owner to tie up the dogs first.

maybe that dog is dangerous to people.maybe his trained to kill and the police doesnt have a choice but to put its lights out.
