New Series Hawaii Five-O

After running a lot of promos for weeks, they are finally naming some of the stars in the more promos. This has caused me to go from a maybe give it a try to a less than maybe. The lead actor is apparently Alex O'Laughlin who I didn't like when he guest starred on something and who was the lead in Three Rivers and was probably the reason that show was so short lived. The only promising things about this new Hawaii Five-O are that it has Daniel Dae Kim who starred in Lost and Grace Park who was in Edgemont. So I may watch it at first if there are no shows I prefer on at the same time. But if Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park have very suborbinate roles, then I probably won't watch it.

I didn't know they were bringing that show back. I liked it when it was on back in the 70's but I was a kid then so I can't really judge it by grown up standards. It will probaby be a good exciting cop show. I will give it a try to see if I like it or not. There are a lot of cop dramas on these days so it will have to be really good to compete, but I will give it a shot.

I've not really liked remakes, so I'll probably pass on it - besides, I didn't like the original show that much either.

Give the original another try. It is worth watching.

I agree with you. My only reason also to watch this is Daniel Dae Kim. I hope this is a good project for him, so with Grace Park. I've only watched the teaser, it will premier in our area this week.

I hate it when they remake the old shows and try to make them as good. They through in so much violance and s*e*x that they loose the whole theme of the show. They just aren't very good. Plus, with all the new techo stuff they can do these days it is so phoney it is ridiculous...people surviving helacious explosions and things like that. I didn't watch 5-0 as we didn't have tv back then and even if we did, I wouldn't have watched that, not my style, but still... it was a good show that lasted many seasons and still talked about today - "book 'um, Danno"... I mean who doesn't know that phrase even if you never saw the show! So this drama will be stupid and if it appeals to anyone it will be the much younger age and even then...probably not for very long.

I hadn't heard that they were remaking Hawaii Five-O. I can't say I'm too enthusiastic. I watched it a lot when I was a kid, but I'm not generally keen on remakes. Most of the time I prefer original TV programmes.

I think Daniel Dae Kim is supposed to have quite a significant role.
