The day started out so well...

So I dropped the twins at the dentist and then took Dearra to High School. She was a bit worried about finding her friend that she was sharing a locker with (they had paperwork to finish and turn in), but when I dropped her off, there was her friend being dropped off right in front of her. So she caught up to her friend, while I went back to the dentist and had a good checkup. Good start to the day, right?
Later in the morning, I called transportation to get Dearra's bus information. I had forgotten to call Friday, and Dearra had instructions to call me at lunch, so I could tell her what bus she needed to take. This was her first day ever taking the bus home. That went smoothly, and so I felt that the afternoon had a good start as well.
School gets out at 1:50 on Monday, so I knew that if there was a problem, Dearra would probably call pretty close to 2:00. When the phone rang at 2, I went uh oh, but it turned out to be a friend of Cary's. Naomi had answered the phone, and I told her to get off for about 15 minutes, just in case Dearra needed to call.
Two minutes later, Naomi comes down with my cell phone in hand and says "it's Dearra". Yep, you guessed it. She tried to call me exactly at the time when the other person called. "Mom, I turned in my paperwork after school, and the stupid bus doesn't wait." Sigh. "I'll be right there." Pat self on back for taking the day off. lol
So I go upstairs to get my purse and shoes and hit the bathroom. I walk past the sink and wth? There's a baby lizard on the floor. So I call Naomi over, walk into the toilet and whack my toe with the door. OUCH. So I get out, and go for a Bandaid while Naomi traps the lizard underneath a plastic Easter egg. Meanwhile, Jason, our cat is going crazy trying to get at the lizard.
Toe all bandaged, I slip a piece of paper under the egg and tell Naomi to put the lizard outside. I tell Cary to help her with the doors. So he opens the bedroom door, slams it behind her and goes back to the computer. Sigh, so I go downstairs with her, open the door so that the baby lizard can be free, and I go get Dearra.
Everything happened at once, but after that it was all good.
Except now I have to take off with her to buy supplies. Never a dull moment.

The only thing that is going to fall off is a bit of skin!

Haha!
We've all had moments like that haven't we? It never fails to amaze me how the climate determines what critters we all have to rescue. The biggest one I've rescued so far was a huge moth. It's usually spiders but some of them can be rather big too.
As for Mum, did she do any strange things last week? Sure did! Usually involving doors. She wanted to walk through a door to a Fish and Chip shop for the takeaway section instead of the sitting area (we have been there before) and there was another door to a decorating shop where she tried using a door that had a bloody great red arrow on the front pointing to another door with "Entrance" underneath the arrow. But the best one was the sliding door at the Co-Op. She seemed to think she had to open it herself (it was automatic and actually open when she was messing with it)..I just did this
on numerous occasions.
Missing her though as I'm back in dreary Carlisle now. Mum has been to the hospital regarding her EYES so I'm dying to know how she got on!!!

I spoke to her earlier on the telephone and she didn't say anything about the results. To be honest, I'm not too sure what the procedure is so perhaps she's awaiting results. I was too caught up in her telling me how she got lost coming out of the building lol.

The fun never ends, does it? Take care of the toe. I can just imagine how things happen with the animals and kids and schools starting on different days or at different times. Good luck.

Actually, when it went so well in the morning, I did have this fleeting thought that it might be a bad sign. Last night was fun too. Had to hit four stores before I could find anybody with graph paper!@dawnald (85137)

Most kids want to keep lizards they catch in a jar or something for a few days. My husband caught a baby turtle in our yard when he was mowing and gave it to my nephew he still has it 2 weeks later. First days back to school are the hardest and most stressful..We were stressed my sisters first day, because we were afraid she would miss the bus or she would get on the wrong bus.

Shame, hope it doesn't fall off or something.
That is life for you.
Kids, work and animals.
Always busy.
Enjoy.
TATA.
