How long of a trip are you going for? If it's only going to be a short time you might just want to leave your furry friend home since airline travel can be very stressful on dogs and cats. Unless he's small enough to fit in one of those flat, under-seat carriers that you can bring into the cabin with you he'd end up in cargo and that can be very uncomfortable and scary at the least and very dangerous at times, too. However, if you do take him with you, first you'll need to call the airline and find out what kinds of requirements there are for traveling with your pet, and find out what the importation laws are for pets coming from another country. Then you'll have to visit your veterinarian and make sure your dog is up to date with his Rabies vaccination, Bordatella (kennel cough) and Distemper/Parvo/Lepto vaccine. You'll need to have the veterinarian fill out an International Health Certificate, and that will need to be done (usually) within 10 days of the flight. There may be other requirements as well, but you'll have to ask the airline or your country's Agricultural Department what they are. Then, don't forget, you'll have to find a vet in the US for a new International Health Certificate to be able to go back.

I think the pet on board is not a good idea, you can not escape the airport's security department. To bring the pets the only way is to check. But for your dog this caused great harm.Or stay at home and let family members help take care of it.If you wanted to settle in the United States that may trouble you to concider how it disposed of,as if checked pets is quite cumbersome procedures. You still seriously consider it.
