Keep walking friends

Friends the Organs of our body have their sensory touches at the bottom of our foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches and pains. One can go to an acupressure specialist for this. You can wear slippers; shoes that have raised points, where your foot touches them, as you walk these points are messaged. I find difficulty in walking due to diabetic neuropathy, so I keep my feet over a machine called walker, it vibrates my feet left and right, sort of virtual working. Do you do walking, in morning and evening or use a ‘walker’ as I said. A friend of mine uses a ‘treadmill’. Professor

To add, walking has proven good benefits to the body of human beings. Moreover, the mental health of an individual greatly benefits from walking as well. People prefer walking for fifteen to twenty minutes after dinner so they can digest the food easily. This helps a person to sleep well. It is quite unsafe to go out all alone at night so take a friend of yours with you when you plan to have a walk. The best time to do this is in the evening. It will really give you a relief from your hectic day of work. When you inhale the fresh wind of the evening and exhale the bad wind out of your body, you really feel relaxed. Those who even work in the evening shifts should consider walking as a relaxation. The body can perform more tasks than a tired one. Have a nice day :)

Hi Professor, I feel sorry to know that you couldn't go for your normal walk due to the diabetic neuroopathy. Thanks for the advanced technology for making so many types of foot massage machines for our convenience, and the one mentioned above is one among them. My sister also relies on an electric foot massage machine to do her regular foot massage. There is a timer available on the machine. After setting the requied time needed she then rests her feet on the machine and watches tv program at the same time I usually go for brisk walk for 40 minutes or so at the nearby neighborhood in the evening. I do this to keep my body healthy and fit. There is a path about 50 meter long with raised stones of small egg size fixed on it. It is just near the entrace of the children playground. I can see some barefoot people walking on it back and forth to have their feet massaged when I pass by the playground. Happy posting

I walk most days, but I should walk more often. My back and hips do better when I walk.

I am one that's constantly encouraging people to walk. Where it's safe, it also good to walk barefoot. So keep doing what you can!

Trying to keep up with my three year old, I end up doing a lot of walking up and down our street in the period of a single day. In addition to that, I love to make it out to the local arboretum and walk their two mile paved trail on a fairly regular basis. All of this said, as long as the weather outside is nice I prefer to do my walking the old fashioned way. However, when it starts to get too cold outside I am planning on joining one of the local gyms to be able to use the treadmills.

I try to get all the steps in a day that I possibly can. I go to the church gym and walk for an hour or so whenever I get a chance. Walking is very good for us. In fact, it is probably the best exercise we can get. God bless you and keep up the walking on the walker.

hi professor, I am also a diabetic but I lucked out as have not neuropathy but I have a bad foot with a torn tendon that did not get repaired when it should have so now I have orthopedic shoes with a brace on the left foot. makes walking hard for me too. I am thinking of getting a walker myself as my insurance will pay for it.

A 30 minute brisk walking is the best exercise one could ever have. It is very simple, no cost and can be done just around the neighborhood. Those who live near the beach can enjoy free acupressure reflexology by walking barefoot on the sand. The morning sun is a bonus for it gives us free Vitamin D.

Hi there again, Prof. :) I am lucky that I can still walk normally, err, without the aid of anything. I live on the 3rd floor of my apartment. Every day at least three times a day, I have descend and ascend the building to get some of my work done like marketing, laundrying, etc. This is the reason perhaps why I don't get any excess fats.LOL However, I am using high heel or shoes with at least 2" heels to make my feet comfortable while walking. It makes me feel more stable walking in high heeled shoes than in the flat ones.:)

Acupressure is getting more widely accepted these days. All the same knowledge base is still scarce. I guess it is quite the right approach. I too have the so called 'morning walker' but I am not using due to its cumbersome arrangement. I am, though old like you, still active and feel like 'taking a walk' daily. Alas! I do not seem to get time for it. I climb stairs, one storey or two storeys. Yes, Prof. Walking is by far the best and costless exercise and worth adopted by one and all.

Hi Prof, Everything you said are true. Actually I am trying to study this kind of theraphy. I don't have any thing of these. I walk only when going to office from house to public vehicle terminal. Thats the only walked I get regularly. Maybe I should buy that slipper you are talking about.

Yes, I totally agree with you on the need for walking and exercising all the points on the foot. I used to have such a pair of shoes, but they wore out and I no longer have them! However, I have practiced what is known as Zone therapy for years after purchasing a book and video by a man called Josephy Corvo. For those who are interested here is a link to his site http://www.thezonetherapy.com/resources.html - (that is not a referral link). _Derek

Hi Prof., yes i always do my daily walk routine with my friend. this is a straight 20 rounds inside the football play ground here. while having our rest, we tend to remove our rubber shoes walk a little bit and feel the prickling sense over the sand...

Hi Prof! Alot of what you said has got to do with reflexology which I believe holds the cure to some of our ailments if done correctly. I do walk alot too. And I hope that would help. Walking on pebbles as some people would do here or wear slippers with raised points where the soles would touch them as one walks would greatly help.

I have heard of this acupuncture points in our sole and yes, walking is really beneficial, especially if we walk up stairs, every step up we take, we have an extra 5 secs added to our life. I would walk around after lunch for better digestion and slimmer stomach

I have just been told I am soon going to be diabetic! I was referred to a dietitian, that's it. I have never heard of controlling the affects of diabetes by doing any of this! I have to learn more. My feet have been gradually "falling apart". I wonder!
