I just bought a baby guinea pig yesterday named her Skittles.
I have a cat his name is Tink and figured ok rodent and cat cannot possibly get along.
While I was setting up her cage, he come in and watched me curiously.
After I was finished he sat there and put his paw through the cage and patted her not one claw was out. I thought that was pretty amazing.
Later I took her out of the cage, and showed her to him and he actually licked her (I am thinking Taste like chicken? LOL)
I shut the door for the night so he could not bother her and he come to bed with me anyway.
This morning I got up did my routine and went to the bedroom where I keep her cage and brought it out and started cleaning it.
I let Skittles out on the counter to get some exercise and Tink followed her everywhere.
Anyway I thought people that think pets don't get along because we have been told they don't will enjoy this attached picture
Tink loves her and thinks she is his baby
Crazy CAT!
Anyone else have a unusual pet story?

My cat is fine with our hamsters. They can walk past him on the bed and he'll barely move a muscle.
My dog and cat get along, and the dog is afraid of the hamsters if they are out in their balls.

Have you seen the BIG Rat balls they have now?
I used to breed mice and hamsters and rats and bunnies for our local pet shops
But with my illnesses, I had to finally stop got to be more than i can handle.
I had 2 hairless rats that were really my pets.
Millie was my little girl I will have to see if I still have pics of her on my computer. she has passed but she used to drink tea out of my teacup when it was sitting on the table. pretty funny.
She went everywhere with me believe it or not.
about the only place I could not take her was the beach. without fur she could not have been protected from the sun.
I used to not like rats but after buying millie I really learned they were really intelligent little critters.
My cats loved to watch her roll around in her rat ball so when you talked about the dogs and hamsters it reminded me of her
Thanks for the little memory!

You have a Siamese! I LOVE Siamese! My Scamp is a "black" Siamese and the white eared cat in my avatar is part Siamese - but I wouldn't trust HIM with a rodent...
However, my roommate, long before she was my roommate had a cat named Tia and she had hamsters and one time the hamster got lose and Tia caught it and brought it to her.
Now, my roommate doesn't see real good - she's legally blind, tho she has limited vision. So, she couldn't see that her cat dropped the hamster at her feet. Well, the hamster took off, needless to say. Tia grabbed it again and brought it back and dropped it ON her feet.
She got the hamster back in its cage, unharmed by its close encounter with a very sweet cat.

How Cool of a story.
People get the idea that cats will KILL rodents. Actually what it is they see the movement and just want to play with them.
And then one of two things happen, possibly 3,
first thing, cat plays with mouse til its killed.
Second thing, cat plays with mouse til he is tired and mouse gets away.
Third thing, Cat overplays with the mouse, and mouse gets tired, and bites the cat on the nose LOL
That pretty much summed it up at my house.

That is adorable!
My friend had a cat called Bumpy that wouldn't chase or harm anything. Hedgehogs used to come in and eat from her bowl and she wouldn't mind at all. She'd just carry on eating next to them. Now that's really unusual too!
I love the sound of your pets. Please post pictures for us to coo over soon!

Thanks for the comments! Hedgehogs that is probably one of about the only pet my son and I have not had LOL
we have held them in pet stores and even got to see an albino one. Quite interesting.
Glad you liked the picture.
Unfortunately my baby guinea pig has a cold so I may have to return her to the pet store on monday as they give a 7 day warrenty on them. If so I get to replace her with another but unfortunately Tink is already attached to her. But I did notice once I got her home she was sneezing. So I am going to give her some orange in the morning to see if the citrus will help her. Will keep you posted
Gonna add you as a friend too if you dont mind!

Wow...that's amazing. I had a guinea pig last time where I allowed it to roam freely around my balcony...a stray cat somehow managed to climb up to my balcony and killed my guinea pig. I was really sad. To see what you experience is just surreal. Nonetherless...I still think its better to keep your cat away from your guinea pigs. You can try to make them bond but cats and guinea pigs are naturally enemies..so I think it's best to keep them apart unless you are there to keep an eye on them

Too cute!
