Swine flu

Friends, several cases of swine flu has been detected in my city, there has been deaths too. I feel sad to know that the Government owned Medical College Hospital is still not equipped to fight this. But the private hospitals and nursing homes are in a much better position. Treatment there is costly; a single shot of preventive injection costs 500 to 1000 rupees. Government hospital does not have this. I bought homoeopathic medicine having trade name, ‘Antiflu’, this costs just 15 rupees a dose, one dose is said to be sufficient; I gave it to all members in my family. What is the scene at your place, when did you had this Swine-flu; what preventive measures you took? Please share. Professor

Hello sir, Presently there is no news about swine flu and now the season is for ‘dengue fever’. I think it is also not serious and government is trying their best to avoid dengue. The reason is Common Wealth Games is coming and preventive measures are going on (badly some cases are reported too). Now the rainy season is going on and yesterday was a heavy down pour and the road became rivers..( yes due to the bad drainage system…. ) and we can expect any bad news at any time. If the capital is free from diseases then it will be a great relief to the government. Let us wait and see…

It's been awhile since I've heard anything about swine flu, so hopefully it isn't too bad here. I'm sorry you are having to pay so much for the medicine, but I'm glad you were able to get some for your family.

Last year there was a lot of scare about the swine flu and a lot of my friends took their families to clinics that were held at some of the local high schools to be vacinated against it. I, however, decided not to vaccinate my family because the vaccination was too new for me to be able to trust. If it turns out that it is going to be common again this year, I think I am probably going to make the same decision that I made last year.

Hi Prof! Our worst outbreak was around this time last year. We waited for some months to get the H1N1-2009 vaccination. I've had mine recently. The doctors said if it strikes again we have to get a new jab as the viral strains get better and more immuned to the present medicines. The best defense we are told is to keep our personal hygiene high, wear prescribed masks in crowded areas and the moral responsibility to be away from crowds at the slightest fever in us because this thing is highly contagious.

Hi Professor2010 :-) From memory, in the news a little while back, the World Health Organization declared the pandemic "over". It was never really bad in Australia, but the fact that healthy, strong, fit, young individuals were dying from it very fast... scared many people. None of my family had nor believe in having the relevant medical flu shot. The homeopathic medicine is actually very effective & has many benefits including no side effects - ever & it leaves no imprint on the immune system, as well as being very cheap. I've used homeopathic & naturopathic medicines most of my life - all very cheap & extremely effective & fast - acting. The best article I've found on the Swine Flu is on page 10 of this newspaper: http://innerself.com.au/backissues/ew17/ Wishing you all the very best in these interesting times :-)
