Is this really professionalism? Talk about uncalled for!!!

New Hampshire Democratic candidate Keith Halloran put a comment on his facebook page about the plane crash that killed Sen. Stevens. "Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board" Come on guys...I know the election mud slinging gets heavy and I am sure some of them don't personally like each other...but wishing two people were dead. That is a bit much. Very unprofessional. Very childish. Very uncalled for. He did post an apology today saying he wished the Palin family and Johnson family "only the best". But really...isn't it too late. We already have elected officials that are little more than badly behaved child...do we really need more? Our politican climate is like the jerry springer show and this guy just took it to a new low. Would you vote for this guy?

sadly the level of maturity of a thoughtless 8 year old is in fact about exactly the right level for politics.

You have to wonder what in the world possessed him to make such a statement for the whole world to read. Knowing what has happened to others, didn't he realize this would come back to bite him? Anyone who doesn't think beyond the moment, doesn't need to be elected to a political office.

No, but then again he isn't in my voting district. So, I guess I really don't get that much of a say. It is a childish insult and I am glad he was called out on it. That is a completely stupid and insensitive comment to make and completely demeans the horrific accident that the plane crash was.

The really terrible thing is that he made this comment in response to a posting from another state rep (R), asking for people to be respectful of Ted Stevens even if they didn't agree with him. Then this jerk responds the absolute opposite way. I did a little research on this guy and this isn't the first or worst thing he has said about fellow politicians. When D1ck Cheney was hospitalized, he commented "Pull.The.Plug". He just has no idea how to behave like a mature human being and if anyone votes for him, they would have to be of the same childish state of mind. What is more disturbing is the fact that so many politicians these days feel that it's okay and even good strategy to make these nasty, snarky remarks (Alan Grayson, anyone?). I don't care if they joke about this stuff in private, they probably do, heck everyone jokingly says really terrible stuff they don't mean when they're in private. But if you expect to be in a position of power and influence, you need to grow up and learn some manners, some etiquette and know how to work and play well with others. It seems there aren't many politicians these days who have these skills.

I did not know about what he said about Cheney...that was horrible to. I don't like Cheney at all...but I would not even say that about him. This guy has the maturity level of a 5 year old...he does not belong anywhere NEAR our government. here's to hoping he does not win the election....people like him are exactly what we DON'T need in our state and federal government.

If I were already leaning towards voting for this guy, I'd have to take a serious look at him after that. Apologies are great but you can't unring the bell and what he posted on facebook was beyond ignorant and irresponsible.

hopefully this guys career is over. ANother guy stepped down for saying something similar...but so far this guy hasn't. Another poster said he also said "pull the plug" when cheney has heart surgury last month...so basically this guy wants all republicans to die.

I think such an idiot should be put out of politics. But the problem is that this kind of behaviour amongst public personalities is already a pandemia.

sadly this is true. most of them act like ill mannered children. Which is why most of them need to be voted out.

That certainly is uncalled for - beyond uncalled for, it's despicable and disgusting - and this guy doesn't know what professionalism is! I see this guy is running for the NH state house so we'll likely not hear much about him but I intend to remember his name in case he tries to enter the national political scene in the future. I think this is even worse than if he had said something like this verbally. I mean, he took the time to type this out on Facebook and then going ahead and submitting it we can assume after having reviewed it and given it adequate thought. It's one thing to have a "foot-in-mouth" moment, often when something simply doesn't come out quite right because the person didn't take the time to think about it and hear it back first. Also since he DID put it on Facebook it obviously wasn't something he'd only meant for a private conversation. Annie

There's also the matter that he could have promptly deleted it. I know people who have posted some really stupid things when they were angry, drunk, etc. and deleted them almost immediately. This guy left it up for a good long while before the backlash came. Since he's largely a nobody, this would have gone unnoticed if he'd deleted it shortly after posting.

That's true, Taskr. I have no idea how long it was up, in fact I hadn't heard of this stupidity until I read this post. As you said, he's a nobody, let's hope he STAYS a nobody! (I don't care what letter is next to his name!) Annie

*looks in sheepishly* So, um....yeh....hi guys...it's me, the political mylotter from New Hampshire. Well, this is awkward....that's two politicians now from my state who did something like this. I swear guys, were not all like that up here....really. I am trying to find this guy's background and I am hoping....no, change that to BEGGING GOD that he isn't a native and is rather a transplanted flatlander. New hampshire voters are notoriously independent no matter what party they register under. In all likelihood if this guy doesn't drop out of the race, he will take a hell of a beating. He lost his last bid for the same seat so

Don't worry X...we won't hold you accountable for those idiots. We know poeple in your state are better than that. Heck...look at my state...I have my share of idoits in office too. We all do. The one guy has already resigned. The other has "suspended his campaign". So it looks like both will loose their political careers over it. Which is good.

I agree, that was just really unprofessional. And the fact that it was posted in facebook, he might have thought about it hundred times before doing it. Just shows his true color. Just thinking something bad that would happen to a person is already a sin. How much more with what he did.

Let me first say I am not a big fan of Sarah Palin or even less so Levi Johnson, but I am appalled that someone who is running for public office would say this let alone put it on facebook for the world to see. I think it is shameful and no one should vote for him.
