Yes I Can Cry During A Movie, But Not Like This Like Yikes

I heard this story sometime ago on the TV and this woman named Hollie who has actually gotten famous for being known as "The Crying Wife". Hollie cries at just about any movie, whether it ends happily but especially sad, but she even cries at movies that most normal people wouldn't affect in the same way. She cried hysterically at Star Wars, Marley & Me, the end of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, etc...you name it. Intrigued by how his wife reacts to movies, Hollie's husband Parker actually started video taping his wife's reactions to movies and created The Crying Wife website and on YouTube is a whole score of videos of his wife crying at movies. For instance, here is The Crying Wife being taped at the end of Lord of the Rings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS0jOvk5zYA Now I have to admit, I blubber like a baby at the end of Return of The King myself...uh, but not this bad. I'm a blubberer at just about any animal related movie even if it ends happily (like Fly Away Home), but still not as bad as The Crying Wife. How about you? Do you cry hysterically at movies? Do you cry as much as The Crying Wife? What movies set you off crying like a baby?

Oh no, my son was here and though he couldn't hear it, he is so making fun of this lady.. My daughter and I cried, but that that bad and not at that part, just at the very end when Frodo left on the ship with Gandalf. I also cried when I saw Marley and me. But like I said, not that bad.. Fireproof has a couple scenes that make me cry. I also cry when reading certain books when I read a sad or touching part and my son sees it coming every time and starts making fun of me.. But once again, not as bad as this lady. (Now my son is reading this and laughs, "hahahaha, yep you got that right.) Anyways, I know three are more, but I can't think of them right now. So I hope this guy doesn't take his wife to the theater, if so he'd have to take a whole box of tissues with him..

Yeah I cry hysterically at the end of LOTR--could never understand why Frodo doesn't shed one tear though when he's leaving Middle Earth. I think I also cried at the end of that movie since I realized there weren't going to be anymore LOTR movies to look forward to, sort of end of an era. E.T. gets me going, and Powder, and like I said, just about any animal related movie

I remember reading LOTR way back in high school, and when the movies came out it inspired me to read the books again. I feel in love with the movies from the word go...didn't see it in the theatres but bought the tapes, didn't have a DVD then sight unseen since I had seen the trailers and just knew it'd be up my alley. Later when I did get a DVD I then got the DVD versions including the extended versions. Come to think of it, I haven't watched those movies in ages

I think that is why I cried at the end of LOTR, because I knew that was it. See for some reason we did see the first one when it came out in theaters, but I didn't get it..(In some things I am slow I guess..lol) Then my daughter got into it so much, she bought all three and had me sit down and watch them..The good thing about that was she had already seen them, so she didn't mind me asking questions..Now I am a big LOTR fan, and even got some awesome funny videos saved on youtube...

Well... Honestly, that video was too funny, i couldn't stop smiling see her cry for smallest of things. It's not that sentimental movies don't touch me, but this was really too much. Thanks for sharing the video.

Honestly, i can't think how her husband is able to bear it, lol. If i had a wife like that crying for small things, i don't know what i could have done. I see this guy takes it easy and laughs in the video himself. I will have to check out their other videos as well.

I cry during emotional/sad movies. Usually not full out sobbing, just a few tears running down my face or a little sniffling over movies like P.S. I Love You, A Walk to Remember, or The Notebook,...your typical chick flicks. The Crying Wife does seem quite extreme.

I'm a cry baby and have cried a lot on movies that touches me. Hubby would always make fun of me whenever I had a good cry over movies but seeing "The Crying Wife", I can't compare a bit. Yes i have to agree she's a bit extreme.

I do cry when I watch movies that touch me. But not to the extent that people notice me. I do it quietly...wipe away a few tears and if I really want to cry some more...I do it in private:) Even when I'm at home and if the rest of the family is around...besides the few tears that I let drop in front of them, I go in the bedroom and cry my heart out when I want to. But definitely not the way the lady you mentioned does:)

I haven't gone to the movies in ages, so just re-watch DVD movies I have, and even if I've seen it a number of times still wind up crying. My one blessing in being alone, is that I can cry my heart out if I want...the only one to catch me is my cat

The last movie I cried at was It's Complicated....and I was cryig because I was laughing so hard and my daughter and I had to turn off the movie to compose ourselves! Otherwise I am also a crier but depends on the movie....there are a ton that I have not cried at even though they are sad.

I don't cry much at all. If a movie is about an animal or child being hurt or dying, I tear up and that's about it. Movies where adults get hurt or dye doesn't bother me at all just animals and children. I guess because they are innocent.

To cry in all movies regardless of the outcome? She really has some issues. She should go see a doctor and have a physical and/or emotional exam to see what is really bothering her. This is not normal even for a woman

I really don't know but i am so very emotional when it comes to sad movies. The movie that I really cried was "The Passion of Christ". I can't control it! It's breaking my heart. Until the following day, my eyes were puffy.....

My hubby and kids laugh at me because I can cry about any movie almost. But... my tears are silent! Yes, I cry if it's sad or if it's really sweet but... like I said it's silent tears. At least the rest of my family can still hear the movie if I cry! That video clip was hilarious... I got my kids up out of bed (they were not asleep yet) just to watch this clip!

Personally I have been known to be crying at the end of movies, but very few make me tear up so bad that I would be making a scene to where someone like my husband would want to Tape me and put me on Youtube for everyone to see. I think crying at the end of movies, especially when they are Sad is a natural thing. But to go overboard how could you even want to be out in public?

I've cried at the end of movies like The Notebook, for a long time, I just couldn't stop crying & think I was even hyperventilating. I was looking at the video in your link & some other videos & she cried at some odd movies to cry about (star wars, for instance) I don't think the crying wife should watch any more movies, she should find something else to do to keep herself busy.

Good grief!! That's one cry baby alright!! Wow!! No, I'm not a crier at all. I used to be in my younger days but things that have happened to me have made me hard at heart.... so to speak. I guess you can call it an outer body type of thing where I go numb. I'd like to feel my feelings again but don't know how to reconnect. I don't want to be a crier necessarily but something in that sort of range if you know what I mean. I have a heart, no doubt about that but I'm just not a crier. I don't fault anybody who is either but this gal is just too much!

Sad movies only, and just kind of leaky around the eyes, not full out sobbing. The Way We Were will do it every time....

I think most people cry because there are many reasons why people cry. Some people cry because they are happy....some people cry because they are afraid and sad. Crying can be an expression of so many different emotions. But I think crying is mostly used when you felt sad and got carried away by the sad movies you watch on movies or TV shows. But the way she cried is really something a bit funny. I do find it amusing enough just like more than an stage act. But she is good and she does cry really good I am impressed. Crying even the moves is funny and comedy in nature is sometimes true.

I do cry at almost any movie but not the way she does wherein there's a lot of whimpering. Usually I just cry silently but when I do cry I cry hard, but again silently, like tons of tears will just roll down my cheeks. I think the Crying Wife and I are kind of the same in such a way that we're pretty emotional even in the most not-so-emotional parts of a movie. I even cry at cartoons hehehe! I remember crying at Lilo and Stitch, Toy Story 3, and even at some scenes of Futurama! (among others). I also cried at almost every scene of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and some other movies/shows that I can't even recall the titles being so many of them ;) My husband will just laugh at me but not in a harsh way, more of like in a loving sort of way, and then he'll kiss my cheek and put his arms around me :) I also cry when reading books, or even just recalling or retelling a certain story that made me cry, LOL. I know I'm such a dork but I really can't help it and to be honest I'd rather be like this than to be a hard hearted stone. But then again, when I cry, I don't whimper a lot, just silent tears :)
