Even boys concern about their shape

My teen cousin really concern about his weight, and how much you going to eat. That was a shocker to me. I thought only my 2 female cousins concern about their shape, because they are girls. For my male cousin, he really vow not to consume too much meat, even though he likes steak. He would cut it down as much as he can, and he will exercise more often. He will change his eating habits. From what I see, he is not that fat, and as matter of fact, he is really skinny. I don't see why the need of diet and cutting the consumption amount.

Haha, most boys now are concerned with their own bodies. They all want the six or eight pack. Maybe your cousin has took a liking to some pretty girl in school?

Haha, that is a very probable reason. When a teenage has a crush on others,he will lay more emphasis on his appearance immediately to attract the girl's attention.

But we always choose our true love on the premise of appearance.I mean, sometimes if we don't like others' appearance at all, possibly we will become friends with each other, but these people that we dislike their appearance probably will never become our marriage candidates. But of course character is the most paramount side to think about.

Yea, but sadly in some cases, some girls won't bother to look. They bother more about the character. But these kinds of girls are good girls. Potential marriage candidates.

Well, I`m really tired of all of those people who aren`t concerned at all about their bodies and use lame excuses as "curves are beautiful" when their shapes are just one big round curve. However, it`s bad to obsess too much about your body shape too. Your cousin might just want to have a healthy life, and not to get thinner, but I don`t know as I haven`t asked him personally. Somewhere in between is the perfect point about caring about body shape

Yeah,I still consider one's appearance as an important thing. On the other hand, too much eating is harmful to your health without any doubt.Sometimes we exactly need abstinence, but too much degree is also inappropriate.

Some do it for looks, some do it for health reasons. I started running to see how it would affect my asthma, and it's something I like to do now. I also lift weights because afterwards I feel better, at least once the tiredness wears off a little bit.

It does not sound like your friend is anorexic so there is nothing to worry about concerning that standpoint. Now men do worry about their looks, believe it or not. Maybe your cousin does not like the way he looks, or does not feel right. For example i feel awful right now because i am a swimmer and i am out of season. I feel lazy and i feel that i have been consuming too much food. i have gained 10 pounds but i am still considered at an average weight. Even though i am average in weight right now i just feel uncomfortable. I have been trying to eat less as well and am running and erging in the meantime to help drop weight. I personally feel better and a lesser weight and when i exercise daily.

Though better nutrition coupled with exercise has long been the favored prescription for losing weight and avoiding obesity, a new study suggests diet actually plays the key role.

It scares me of his attitude. He is skinny but he still reduces his food consumption? Something's wrong. Hmmmm... Observe your cousin if he becomes more and more conscious of increasing weight even he is so skinny, that might be some form of anorexia nervosa.

Even today, those boys just concern about how good they want to be look at. Not about how healthy they want to be. Sad to say so.

There is an old saying..."an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"...He is actually wise for being careful to eat right and exercising as much as possible. It is a lot easier to KEEP the weight off than it is to lose it once it becomes a problem. I wouldn't worry about it as long as he doesn't have any health issues. Just advise him to have regular check-ups with his doctor...

yeah i agree with the first post. better watch out that your cousin does not have anorexia nervosa. anyways, when i was young i was skinny too, and i don't worry about weight as i had problem getting on weight. so i wonder why your cousin worries about his weight so much.

Maybe he just wants to be a fashion model?Whatever,I think heavy weight is harmful to your health. And just look around ,you will find there are many people still very focus on their appearance and it is a qutie normal thing. It doesn't depend simply on whether you are a male or a female. But I don't think it is appropriate to focus too much on it,like trying to lose weight all the time.

Evey gender is entitled to being conscious about their shape, so there's really nothing shocking about it. Anyway, people nowadays are getting more and more conscious about their shape. It's because of a lot of factors like media, which imposes what good looking is and what people should do to achieve them. Oh and being in shape doesn't only mean not being fat, it also means being lean and having muscles and abs.

Children are becoming harder on one another in school now. There has been alot of talk about this particular things on talks shows and in the news. There are children or a having lapband surgery and everything. Now dont get me wrong there are some children that need to lose weigh bc its jus not healthy but u never want a child to become overly obsessed over things like that. I believe that its handed down from family members. We learn how to eat and how to cook from our family and thats wut ultimately controls weightloss or gain. I would say its good that he is conscience of what he eats b/c there are some kids that dont care. I cant tell you how many boys between the ages of 10-17 I have seen with boobs and its related to all of the hormones being injected into these animals there eating mainly chicken though. The chicken have steroids injected into there wings so keep him away from the wings

My son is also concerned about his weight. He's only 12 but wants to play football this coming school year. He started eating to bulk up but didn't match it with exercise. Now he's worried that he has gained too much weight. I told him if he would just watch what kinds of foods he ate and exercise as he has been wanting to do then there will be no problem. I've reassured him that he's still young and will play off the extra weight when school starts. He's also going to be in the weight room working out so that will help. Just be reassuring that he's not overweight. A simple goal to watch what kinds of foods he eats (rather than cutting back) and exercising more would take care of any extra weight he might have.

him that sounds weird to me actully i mean i guess some males care about there shape more than others but he seems to be taking drastic measures to make sure hes no fat. Has anyone ever told him hes fat or anything because he could be experiencing some bullying at him school or something that could rilly be getting to him mentally. i mean i no for a fact that im in great shape but ive never rilly cared that much for my shape its just that im a very high performance athlete and as long as i can keep up with everyone else im okay with the way i look.

Of course, worrying about your fat problems and your body shape is something that should concern both girls and boys... but not your cousin. It is scary to hear that he is skinny and yet try to cut his consuming. Maybe he is trying to avoid fat in order to build a muscle mass? Ask him about it.
