I speak English and a little of Japanese and Spanish. I am studying all three everyday and I'd like to eventually learn Arabic, Korean, and French. What languages can you speak and which others would you like to learn?

Well, my native language is Malay and I'm Malaysian. Well, about the Arabic, I have found this great site. It's free and you can download the offline version of the site. It has many quizzes, podcast etc. I personally just learns a few simple words like chairs, desks, books. www.madinaharabic.com

Portuguese (BR) that is my country's language. BR because the brazilian portuguese is kind of different of the Portugal's portuguese. Some things have same name with different means. And I also speak english, a little poor, but nothing that can't make me able to speak with someone in english. But some words I don't know because I learnt english by myself. Never took classes.

I speak English and Arabic. I did spainish and french at school, but i wouldnt say that i can speak them, possibly a little bit of french??? And i dont really feel like learning on more languages. Languages aren't my strength really, i would rather get better at both english and arabic before trying to learn a new language

Hi, thanks for the reply. You know some of the languages that I'm interested in! But it's true, I thought I should polish my native language first before adding more.. but I also realized that I learned new things about my native language by learning new languages too. It goes both ways, I think. I started looking up Arabic lessons online a few days ago and it seems a lot different from English, do you agree? Which did you learn first?

Wow! You study 3 languages at the same time! You must be very diligent. Aside from my national, I can speak 3 other dialects. I also speak Mandarin, Malay, Thai, English, and a little bit of other languages. It's because I have lived in different countries that's how I learned them. I want to someday learn French and Arabic.

What a talent you have, I have none of that, I have never done well at languages except English, my mind just doesn't seem to be able to work that way. So enjoy your ability and maybe you can even get a career out of this.

I'd love to have a career in this field. I think it is so interesting, like a sixth sense... a way to understand something in another way. It's too bad that you can't enjoy it but I hope you can one day... if you are interested. It's a lot of fun a great eye opener! Thanks for the reply~!

Thanks for the reply, I've never heard of Visayan before. That is very cool that you can understand so many languages, but that's probably normal in a multilingual country.

I only speak English fluently. I know some French though, because I'm Canadian and took it all through school. I would not consider myself fluent since I haven't spoken it in years. I also know some German since I have taken it throughout University.

I speak English, bits and pieces of Spanish, and can read and write in Latin, which is what I'm learning in school right now. I'd love to learn enough Spanish to be fluent, and also would love to learn French, Italian, German, Polish..well...I just want to learn as many languages as I can. I think it'd be amazing to be able to communicate with more people in their own language, and read great works of literature before they were translated to English.
