I think it was a good call as he acted in a manner not fit for someone representing their country. He should have retired at the end of the world cup, now he has no hope of playing for France again. I have said this many times before, I feel France needs to get rid of the old players and get a bunch of fresh players who know how to act.

If I would in the place of the French Federation I would have banned every player from the national team, no matter what quality they are, if they go to a World Cup and act like little children, not willing to train and arguing all the time, then they don't deserve to be part of that national team. I think I would take away their citizenship as well, because they were there to represent France, and they didn't bothered being at least humble and making everything they can for their country.

It doesn't matter what Domenech did or not. He was the trainer, all players should listen to him. And I don't believe that Domenech insulted players, but if you look at Anelka's career you will understand what type of player he is. He didn't cared about the team he was playing for, he only thought about himself and the money he had to receive. He maybe a good player, but with that personality he has, he deserves nothing good. And if you are at a World Cup and represent your country you have to let your ego aside. And these player haven't. Maybe because the majority of them have other nationalities, they come all over the world but have French citizenship and play for France. Domenech couldn't be punished, because he resigned from being a coach of the national team.

I am not sure how much of a punishment this one is. Anelka has already announced that he has played his last game for France, so he would not really be affected by this. I think Ribery, Toulalan and Evra will be the more affected parties. But I also think that Evra should be stripped of his captaincy as he is not a great example!!
Cheers!

I think Anelka doesn't mind this decision , he has got more to do in Chelsea rather than France..
It will take years to complete 18 international games and he don't give a damn for that ..
he just should play for EPL and make him the best player..
Ribery just will do good with Robben for Bayern Munich!!
This is an Unfair Decision, even with big players, france did not qualify for the 16, without them, what they are gonna do??

It is a fair decision. No players is bigger than the club and in this case, the national team. This should be a wake-up call for all the players involved. While they may be good, I believe there are younger players out there who dreams to represent their nation. So, with this suspension, hopefully the fringe players will grab the chance and oust them permanently.
