When I was a kid, I was prone to wounds and I don't want to be treated because it hurts. My parents would tell me that if I do not let them treat me, the golden train will come out of my wound. lol. Something like that. So what's yours?

I don't remember my parents ever doing that, but I did it to my kids. We lived in Florida, and our house had woods on one side. The kids were little, about 3 and 4. We had a big yard, and they played outside almost all the time. The thing that bothered me was that there were black widow spiders in the woods. Hubby and I wanted to make sure they stayed out of there, so we told them there was a monster that lived in the woods...a cyclops to be exact. Well, they did stay out of the woods, so I guess telling them that fairy tale was the lesser of two evils.
