OMG this old body of mine is falling apart. Both my toe nails are coming off. The thought it might be a fungus, but treatment didn't help. So off to the Doctor to see if any other parts might be coming off. He said no, the new style fungus is just harder to deal with, so now I have to under go treatment for 3 to 6 months. Soaking my feet twice a day and then coating with Vicks Vapor Wrap. Isn't that weird. But he say these new funguses respond well to Vicks. That's OK with me Vicks is a lot cheaper then any prescription he could give me. Don't you just hate it when something new and different goes wrong with your body?

My body isn't even all that old, but I definitely think that I have more than my fair share of things that are going wrong with it. I have my back which has been pretty messed up for several years (I have two degenerative discs in there) and then I have my feet which are just ugly (we have a genetic flaw that means we can't grow baby toenails, no one in our family has them). Of course my biggest issue is my teeth. I spent a ton of money several years ago to get them fixed and now all of the filings and stuff are coming out. It is only those that I had done six years ago, I've still got fillings from when I was a teenager that are holding tight but the new fillings are falling out left and right.

Sounds like you need to change Dentist I have fillings from early childhood, say 65 years ago. In fact unless a tooth got broken I never lost a filling. I think the fact that our bodies wear out keeps us grounded here on earth, if they were perfect we could spend all our time on spiritual levels.

Yes it can be very scary when you don't have control over what is happening with your body. I surely hope your nails come back like they were and that it doesn't take that long to get better. Did the doctor tell you what caused the fungus?

No he didn't tell me, I was so glad to hear I wouldn't loose all my nails that I forgot to ask him. Thanks

It's very upsetting when new and different things go wrong with my body! I've never heard of toenails falling off but that just goes to show that what Grandma said was true--Vicks ia a great, simple remedy for what ails you!

I guess so, I never thought to use it except to rub on your chest and stick up your nose when you have a stuffy cold.

Hi. savypat. I know what you mean. I am 32 years old and I have every blue moon issues here and there with my body too. I hope that you find relief in your toenail fungus. I don't like it when something goes wrong with my body either. It makes me feel as if I don't have any control over it at all.

I’m finding that! I have getting strange rashes, infections etc. nothing too serious but enough to be painful and annoying. I wonder if it is a sign of old age…Surely not (LOL)! Your toe nail situation sounds so sore, ouch! How interesting that you can use Vicks! As you said at least it’s reasonably priced! Hope it all clears for you although it sounds as though you will need a bit of patience with this one. Take care...

I think anything that has to do with the nail takes time. And I think old age does have something to do with it the poor old body just can't seem to ward off these small attacks.

That's what fooled me it didn't change color, it took a black light to show the fungus. A CSI event.

Sometimes slow and steady is how a treatment works. I have also heard that you can get some good results by soaking in baking soda. They have found that they can dust wheat and other crops with sodium bicarbonate to take care of fungus.

Hi pat, spray deodorant on the funguses. It may help you to get rid of your trouble.
