Friends for the last 20 years, I have not seen, monkey dancers, bear dancers and snake dancers in my city, but earlier there were plenty. The persons who used to sell birds like parrots, small singing birds are not seen too. The persons belonging to ‘Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’, (S.P.C.A.) is responsible for this. They catch and punish them. Circus parties have also vanished from not only my state but from other states too. Yesterday was my birthday, this time we celebrated in a unique manner. I hired a mini-bus that can accommodate 30 persons. All my family members, some friends moved to a village farm, there we had a feast and grand celebration. While we were going, on the way we saw a man who was a monkey dancer, I mean he had a monkey, who performed tricks, danced obeying his command. It was really nice to see after several years. What about your place, you have people who have monkey, bear and snakes to show? You have circus parties? Do you have S.P.C.A people there? Please share. Professor

Well, I believe it is good if the cruelty towards these animals reduces. Even I have not seen too many such people and animals along with them recently.

We do have SPCA here in the states, but we also have PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals). It is more PETA than the SPCA that keeps these kinds of things at bay in our country. Yes, we still do have the circus that travels from town to town, but when the circus is in town it means that PETA is in town as well, protesting just across the street from where the circus is going on. I can see where the PETA people are coming from, but I do think that there are times that they do take things to extremes.

In Australia, there is only one or two circus' left. There were many when I was a kid in the forties. However, where I live in Thailand, there are a multitude of animal shows. Elephant, monkey and snake shows are all close to my house. Mike.

hi professor no here in Ca anyway you never see monkeys or bears or snakes dancing, We have S.P.C.A. all over the place and those things went out of practice when I was a little girl. the only time you may see anything like that is one of the smaller traveling circuses that occasionally make the rounds of small towns in some states, but this is rare now too.

dear professor, we have a park here in our place where many animals are kept and bred. some are endangered species now but the park was able to hatch several eggs now of a certain kind of bird. i hope in the near future they get to have more and the bird grows in number. during sundays, this park have this show of birds that they have trained showing their talent. it is amazing to see. the trainors are kind, and they love their animals. it is about 1 hour and a half travel from my place. ann

I haven't found neither circus parties nor S.P.C.A people around me in my real life. I should say I hate the SPCAs. They are over responsible guys who make a lot of things more complicated, practically these things have no relation to them.
