It could be something as simple as a heat rash. I would recommend letting him go with nothing on just a diaper and see if it gets any better. Some times little ones get heat rash in the summer I know I always did. If its not heat rash it could be chicken pox as I remember from when I was a child it started as a rash like area on my stomach. I would give it a day or 2 and see if it gets better if not you may need to make a visit to a doctor just to be sure. Good luck and happy mylotting.

Those would have been my two suggestions. A "home test" for chicken pox is to put the child in a warm bath and see if the rash worsens. If it "pops out" more, it is probably chicken pox.

If you haven't been able to figure out if its heat rash or not, call a hospital emergency room. Ask your questions there see what they suggest. They will give you information in what to do. If they feel they will tell you to bring the child in if it is bad enough. If not, they will also suggest seeing the doctor as soon as possible to clarify what is wrong. Thing is it could be as simple as heat rash or not. Make the call and ask a professional who will give better advice.

Heat and humidity can cause chafing and rashes. Like Hatley, I would suggest cornstarch or baby powder. You did not say if your child is feverish or not. That would be something the doctor would ask if you called. You may want to check that out.

Do not delay for long time. Visit a dermatologist with your son and check it up.

I hope its not bad to post a link to another site, but Http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/tools/symptom/545.html I used this before and it worked. I had a rash for six months went to three doctors who all told me something different , but this site was correct so i love it! I really hope your son gets feeling better!

hi danalldred first how old is your son? A baby? could be diaper rash or heat rash if its been hot and sticky where you are. If its diaper rash he needs to be washed gently dried, then dust on some pure cornstarch to keep the skin dry. this also goes for heat rash too. creams will not help with heat rash but a good brand of baby powder or just plain cornstarch will help dry up perspiration and make your son comfortable. for an older child I think its best to see your pediatrician myself.

Go see a professional. Find a pediatrician.
