Why Is Bret Hart Even Wrestling?

I think Bret Hart is just too physically limited due to his past stroke to even be in a match. Sure it was good that one time when he came back to wrestle Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26, but all he does is hit people with chairs in the ring. All I heard he did at SummerSlam was hit one of the NXT members with a chair and get disqualified. I'm sure he isn't going to be doing it for too much longer or he may be done with the matches. I hope so as I prefer to remember him more for his spectacular matches when he was in his prime.

My guess is that he is still under contract and they are making him do it. I used to watch once in a while, when it used to be more wrestling instead of the stupid stuff that goes on now.

Because of his stroke Bret Hart physically can't wrestle anymore, something about if he lands on his back hard enough it will kill him. So his only recourse is to use chairs and stuff. I think it's sad really cos I like Bret Hart and all this putting him back in the ring is pathetic. When they made him GM of Raw they should have kept it like that because that is a role that he could be good at. I highly doubt that Shawn Michaels retired because of Bret Hart, I think it's more because he wanted a family life and knows when to call it quits unlike some other wrestlers (like Rick Flair). Bret just loves the spotlight but he needs to take up a managerial role or get his GM job back ... it don't have to be on Raw it can be on Smackdown. Just stop putting him in the ring.

I thought he came back with one intention in mind: Revenge for the Montreal Screwjob. Sure he's too old for this, but so are some of the current wrestlers, but they still fight. His time has come and gone and he should just leave and get on with his life.

its funny how shawn michaels retired right around the time he started working for wwe again. from what i remember shawn michaels said he would retire if bret hart ever came back. thats probably why shawn retired.

Did he really have a stoke or was that part of a story line on the show? If he really had a stroke I don't know why he even came back at all. It seems to me that would be too risky. I haven't really watched wrestling for a long time. We used to watch it all the time as kids. Then we stopped. Then my husband and I got into it for awhile. It's kind of like an action packed soap opera lol. Now I just catch it every once in awhile. I saw it a week or so ago when Brett came running out as part of Cena's crew to fight the other group. I thought he was looking really old.

no, it wasn't part of the show. he wasn't even involved in wrestling when his stroke happened at the time.

Bret Hart was my ultimate favorite way back then. Lately though I've not given wrestling any attention. I have stopped watching wrestling for long and not aware of the updates on the wrestling world but from your post I was so saddened. I did not know my favorite Bret Hart had a stroke and did not know either that he is still fighting to this date! Why? Is he going to die of hunger if he will not fight? Is it a weakness to stop fighting and admit you are no longer fit for it? Why go to the extent of destroying his good record by violating rules just to survive the fight because he is no longer physically capable? I hope he stops and just rest. It's time for him to quit rather than continue destroying the tough but honorable fighter image. Bret... do make an honorable exit my dear...please?

In his prime he was a great wrestler. I think he grew bitter towards the wwe's dealings. I want to remember him as my favorite wrestler back in the day. Although I have grown out of wrestling. I still do have respect for him.
