yes i am a backbencher .....and i am proud of that.......i always sit on the last bench of the class .....me and my friends always rocks the backbenches.....thats why lecturer always knows us....but now me and my friends have got separated due to our different branches of engineering.....nowadays i am sitting alone on last bench ...and concentrating on studies....not enjoying loneliness but i have to go with that...i think lecturer only remembers the students who sits on first and last bench.......i have got too many new friends in my new class but they are not like my friend group.....this is the condition of my all friends....there are alone in their classes of course on the last bench...but different branches is not a problem for us....because we meet in canteen daily during lunch break....and we just hang out in evening everyday....oh i have gone too deep with my college and friends ...
so are/were you a backbencher?????

No abj163, I am not a back bencher. Even when I was in high school I preferred being near the front of the class. When I first went to college, I still didn't like the being in the back of the class; I just felt lost in the crowd. I am now back in college. After many years of working, I decided to get my 3rd degree. I have to tell you that I still like being in the front of the class; I record all the professor lectures so it works out great for me when I play back the recordings, they are clear and helpful to hear again, so being in the front has it advantages.

No I don't think I am a backbencher... I don't remember ever sitting on the last bench of the class... I was more like a master of disguise... I was not a brilliant student and also not much interested in studies... I knew that teachers always has an eye on the backbenchers so I used to sit on the first bench or the 2nd one.. I use to draw cartoons on the books while the lectures are going on.. and yet teacher never noticed me.. the advantage of sitting in the first benches is that teachers think they are studious..

I have never been a backbencher for many reasons, being the most important that I don`t want to damage my eyesight standing too far from the black/white board.
Also, when I was in school and in high school, the people sitting in the backbench were the typical brainless bullies, and of course I didn`t want to have anything to do with them

yes i notice those in backbencher during my college days are funny people, some are sleeping,some are reading newspaper/magazine, some are counting the spider webs on the ceiling and some are chatting whispering, smsing , playing sms, hp games and such, during those days there are no Handheld ps games, so all in hp games.I sit in the middle not front and not back.Middle man.

I was never a backbencher because I'm near-sighted. I do enjoy staying in front though, because i get less distractions. That way, I don't have to put down notes so much.
In college, there are no seating arrangements and coming in late can become embarrassing because usually the front seats are the ones available. Haha! But still my luck!
My friends would stay in different places but we hang around during breaks or after school. =)

I have never been one in my entire life! The reason being me having short sight and wearing specs since my 1st standard. Always used to sit in either the first or second bench so that I could see clearly.
But I never wished to be one either because they are the ones who get caught often and have to answer more questions than the people in the first row:-D

I never looked to fit in because earlier , when I came into public school, I was told that I would Never fit in. The other kids teased me so I never tried to be with them. So In each class I would sit up front so I could see the blackboard. I wasn't there to make friends because I assumed I never could. I did In the last years of school but I still sat in the front.

No, I am not and have ever been a backbencher. I have always made it a point tof sitting upfront or near the front of the classroom. I think it is important that I can see what the professor is writing on the board and to have some eye contact with him or her when I have a question. Sitting near the front also keeps me focused on why I a in school in the first place, to get knowledge.
If I am sitting in the back of the classroom, I just feel like another student in the class of many. But, being on the front seat, gives me an opportunity to be known by the professors, for my participation and struggles. For, me it is just beneficial to sit near the front.

In high school I used to always sit at the back because I was taller than most of my classmates. The only times when I would sit in front was when the teacher would arrange us alphabetically by last name. Mine is C, so I'm up front. I used to think that since we were the farthest from the teacher, then he wouldn't notice us much. Little did I know that the opposite was true. The teachers would notice everything we did at the back. So when I got to college, my friends and I sat in front of the class. The teacher would always think that we're listening because we're just sitting there looking at him. So we were not often called for recitations. My teachers would always look at the middle to the back of the room. LOL!

Hi,
Yeah,sometimes i have been a back bencher.I don't like to sit on the last bench.It makes me sleepy and unable to listen the classes.Some of my friends who used to sit in the last bench were poor on studies.The teachers often used to scold the students sitting on the last bench.But,this was during my school days.Now I would like to sit on the first bench on my college. I am having some of my friends in the other class.We would meet in the canteen during lunch break and used to go to home together.In the night,after finishing our studies and in leisure time we would send SMS and messages.
