Finally Getting Somewhere With My Health Problems.

Well, today was the day for visiting the hospital (gyny ward) so it was good that John could take the afternoon off to 1) give me a lift and 2) support me in my hour of need, even though he sat in reception waiting for me. The fact he was there meant a lot.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I shall be waiting for a letter giving me a date for an "exploratory" examination so once I am put to sleep they will be able to do allsorts..camera, smear test and..all being well, a coil will be fitted to help with my bleeding problems. This is something that I was hoping the gyny woman would offer me and, after speaking to me for a while, has decided that this is the only course of action for someone who won't let anyone up there, so to speak. An examination that most women take for granted is nigh on impossible for me.
I still have to go in a week on Friday to have my blood pressure and yet another blood test but, hopefully, I can have this operation as soon as possible to sort me out once and for all!

The coil is a type of contraceptive device fitted as opposed to taking the Pill. Mum had hers taken out and it had been there 25 years (only supposed to be there for 5) lol.
I've been told that it can help with my bleeding situation that has been getting me down for quite some time. Anything that alleviates that will help me emotionally too.

Magical Bubbles, it is an IUD. I did not know they were supposed to lessen bleeding. Janey, I will say that when they went in to do one thing for me, they found more that needed done, but it actually was a breeze. Constant bleeding will get you down. I was going to have a hysterectomy and fibroids removed, the doc wanted to remove ovaries, and I said "Not if they are healthy", but they were not. I had had endometriosis for awhile, I guess, and so it made things a bit sticky, but it was all taken care of at one time.

The bleeding (inbetween periods at least) isn't severe but it happens and the periods themselves are heavier than they used to be, preventing me from doing what I want to do. This is why an exploratory operation is being performed and once it's done I will have a nice, new coil fitted and not know anything about it cos I'll be asleep.
Bliss!

You will be very relieved when it is over. It is nice to even know someone is waiting in the waiting room for when you come out. When you get the medical care you need it always seems to make everything else go better.

Yes, I do know what you mean. It's like I'm moving further towards the summit as opposed to being stuck in the middle going nowhere! It's amazing how positive I feel because this lady was actually INTERESTED in what I had to say.

I do feel sorry for you. i do hope you get all your problems sorted out. i had gyny problems in my 30's and ended up having to have a hysterectomy, much to the disgust of the older ladies in my ward. But I had suffered for years, plus also losing babies.but in those days ladies had to suffer in silence. Thank goodness for modern medicine. Hope everything goes well for you

Thank you.
As for those older ladies you mention on your ward...if I'd have been there I would've punched their lights out for embarrassing my friend like that. How dare they!
