it has to be Tiger...

Dratted cat. I had the peeing problem all cleaned up. Tiger was confined to the large bedroom because we were pretty sure it was him, and because I'm meal feeding him, trying to get his weight down. Thing is, I'm "separated" in my own house, and R has the bedroom. Sometimes the cat gets hungry at 2 am. So instead of putting a wee bit of food down, or throwing the cat in the bathroom, he opens the door. Sure enough, this morning, I find pee in one of the spots that had been a problem. If I tell R, about the pee, I will get the predictable, "I don't have a problem putting the cat to sleep." Well how about this? YOU sleep in the bonus room. YOU shower downstairs. I'll deal with the cat? But I digress. Tiger never, ever pees on the carpet in the bedroom. He uses the litter box. So I know it's not a medical problem. And we've used some pretty powerful products to get the urine out. I suppose I could put up another electric thingie. That kept the problem out of the living room for a long time. But I think I'm dealing with attitude here more than anything. Dumb cat. Now what?

Perhaps you should tell R that you have no problem putting him to sleep.

you tell R to sleep else where and you get the bedroom and the cat, if he won't take care of the cat, then he needs to be away from the cat

R is telling Tiger to do it... Yeah! That's it! Blame it all on R. Seriously, though, I think Tiger is upset about the situation.

If he's upset by anything, it's that I've been bringing foster kitties home. That's when it all started...

The babies are gone, but I did adopt a tortie. I think he's gotten accustomed to going there though, probably there's still a teensy bit of a smell left...

I use Basic G from Shaklee, but nothing seems to stop the cat from going back. It takes care of the smell as far as I can tell, but the cat knows better.

I have three cats and one is a problem. She will pee or poop anywhere. I love them and dont want to get rid of any. They are mom, brother and sister. The sister is the problem one. I thought i solved this thing a couple different times. Once i discovered she didnt like the swinging door so i removed that. That was ok for a short time then back to the floor. When i moved she had to spend a few days ina huge cage. Mainly because they spent a few days at my daughters house while i was moving. My daughter insisted on the cage because she knows how she is. So once we were in our new place i thought being ina cage for awhile helped her see she should use the box. Couple wks pass then she started again. When the litter my daughter had was gone she started useing the floor again. Im thinking of changing to the kind of litter my daughter uses to see if she will stop again. My daughter uses everclean.

Have you tried pheromones? Supposedly they will stop the cat from being stressed...

Why do you think she is stressed? I think im the one stressed. If i get ahold of her and stuck he face near it and tell her to stop it she will for a few days then shes right back at it. Im thinking she needs a few more days in the cage of solitary confinement.

I do know that she is the low cat in the chain of command. The other two pick on her. Probably coz they dont like her using the floor either. Everytime i try to pet her she acts like im hurting her. When she was in the cage for awhile before she stopped acting scared of me too.

Make him clean it. If he is so fast to put the cat down, he can clean the freaking me. Slap him on the ear while you tell him that. Idiot. This is a problem and it won't be solved if everyone work together. Has he ever heard of working together? Probably not. Let him sleep outside. That ought to refresh the pea brain. TATA.

tiger is the nickname for your cat? cats are looking like small size tigers. tigers are available in asian region only(i think). In my home there is a thief cat is there, we are facing so many problem by that. It will spoil all the things, and it will eat curd and drinks milk in home. I get angry on it. Actually i love cats so much. But i think it is related to thief category.

I think it was originally other cats stressing him out. Now, I"m not sure, may be there is still some residual odor in the carpet.

That is a bummer.....but my dog used to do the same but only if he was mad at someone...like my son. He used to pee in his shoes when he was gone for too long! My son didn't appreciate it one bit!

Well once they have marked a spot they tend to renew that. Good luck with this one, at times we have had to turn a house cat into a barn cat for these habits.

This might not work for you but I had friends who had a female cat who decided to pee in the house! Jane and her friend Zolla are fixed but Jane decided to pee were she wasn't suppose to! Like in the plants and on the bathroom rug! My friend Mary couldn't take it anymore and was ready to get rid of the cats. Either putting Jane down or giving up both to the Humane Society. I had a better idea! At the stable I work at we have barn cats! Two are former house cats and ended up barn cats because they sprayed everywhere even after being fixed! So I talked to my friends and stable owner. No problem! As long as they were fixed and healthy! Zolla and Jane became barn cats! It took a few weeks before they started to feel comfortable at their new home but now they are happy and healthy! To bad you couldn't find a farm or stable for Tiger! It could work!

Tiger came to me declawed, so might not work. he seems fine in the bedroom, no peeing as long as he's in there!

We have a cat that has tried to take up the habit of peeing in the house, but we've actually found something that we can do to keep him from peeing in the house, that is that he won't pee in the house as long as we let him outside during the day. We started letting him outside during the day a little over a week ago and the only time that he has peed in the house was yesterday when my daughter decided that he needed to stay inside for the day.

My cats are indoor cats, and this one is declawed. Can't leave him outside, but he doesn't pee as long as he's in the bedroom.

Perhaps the cat is getting the residual effects of the matters at home. LOL... Using psychology here and I know it does not suit me. From what I understand cat urine is difficult to remove as I have been told by cat owners that as the area warms up the stench comes back up. Sorry about hope you find something to get that odor out.

It is hard to get out, but I haven't smelled it for a while. though it could have soaked down into the lining where I can't get to it...

I have an elderly cat with this issue. I put up a baby gate to protect one area, so he just changed spots. He is too old to jump the baby gate, meanwhile I get a workout going over it.When does R get out of the house? It will make things easier for you. I will not put my kitty to sleep either, as he is not in pain or suffering. What is the electric thingy? I think your cat is picking up on R's attitude.
26 Aug 10
Hi dawn, Whose got the attitude, R or the cat? me thinks its R as how would he like it if you tell him you haven't got the problem of putting him to sleep, cats sense things and that is why he is peeing like that. Tamara

Some of the most obnoxious things come out of his mouth when he's upset...
