Given a chance, where would you like to study, in a public or private school? Or if ever that you already have or will be having children, where would you enroll your children to? I would prefer a private school. I did study in a private school when I was a kid and all throughout college. I was enrolled in a Catholic school and it enhanced my knowledge of my religion too. I haven't experienced studying or at least knowing what its like to study in a public school. Your thoughts?

One difference I can think of is also with the tuition fee. Private schools has higher tuition fees which may not be accessible to everyone, that's why they would choose to go to a public school. Its sad that there are also kids that cannot go to school because of financial problems. I hope that the world government would focus on giving good and quality education to all kids, it is our right.

I prefer to attend a public school because in my country, publich schools have better prestige and education quality. Teachers are more responsible compared with private schools. I can always hear some violent cases happened in private schools where there are many troubled students. But this is rare in public schools. This may be different from the situation in your country where private schools have a higher status.

Well thats good, in our country, public schools are not that high education. So most would prefer private schools, and for those who can afford it, but those with financial problems, they opted to go to public schools so as to give their children education.

I've been educated since elementary to grade school and college in private schools...my nephews and nieces are studying in public schools. in our place, private schools are not that good anymore unlike our time.. they tend to get commercialized and the quality of education has suffered. I can see my nephews and nieces are really doing good in their studies. they belong to the science section and first section in public school. not bad at all. Religion is taught by their parents, they don't have much problem on that part.

Maybe it really depends on the student themselves, if they will study hard and be serious with their studies, be it public or private they will learn a lot and go out into the world as a good individual/graduate. Mostly here, religion is taught in private schools, not much in public. Thats what I like in private though. So thats whats Im gonna do with my kids.

I've studied in a private school since pre-school up to college, so I cannot judge the quality of education of public schools. But, I guess that I would enroll my kids in private schools, because in our country, the education sector gets very little funding from the government. There is a shortage in classrooms, teachers, books, etc.

Its just sad to know that there aren't enough government funds to help out the education of a country. Well, I think there are funds its just being used in another project or whatsoever. I believe that the government should give priority to the education system first and foremost because I still believe in that song, "I believe the children are our future.."

hi there.. i also graduated on a private school and i think that being a part of a private school helps a individual develops a sense of responsibility and a acquire good attitudes towards the society, students were trained to be polite and be socially aware on the environment.. as what i have observed students from public schools mostly are violent and more indulged into troubles comparing to students from privates...

I have also observed that in some public schools, I think that because they are funded by the government, and if the government does not have enough then they give what they only have. Low salary of teachers, lack of classrooms, those are some that makes students more lazy to go to school because they feel that they are not given importance by the government. I admire those who are scholars because even if they dont have the resources to study in a private school, which is given that privaTE schools have higher tuition fees compared to public, they still study well and get good grades, for them to get a free high school or even a college education. Government should give more scholarships.

I have went to both a private and public school before. When I was younger I went to a private school from kindergarten to 6th grade. Then I wanted to change over to a public school and my parents agreed to let me. So then I went to a public school and I liked it. I felt like I had more freedom at a public school then I did at the private school. There were also more people at the public school than at the private school. I will probably send my child to public school when he gets old enough to go to school.

Not being Catholic, a Catholic school would be hell. Forgive me! I went to private , non Religious school from 1st to 3rd grade and then I went to public school, If given a chance I would have a private tutor. I had fun at private school and public school was hell so I rather just have a tutor. That way I could study without good distractions like fun of the outdoors or having anxiety attacks because of other kids in public school.

it is a pity that you have not experienced it. it great for me. We could see everybody have different thoughts and idea. there is always a naughty boy or a popular girl. you can learn from them how to behave properly. it is needed when we live in society. we live in thousand people with different attitude and we know how to behave among them.

American schools and the schools where you live, might be different. However, where I was raised, I went to a public school. That was an absolute nightmare. I wish my parents had either home schooled me, or sent me to a private school. Public school for me, was a living hell.

No matter what country I am in, my future children will definitely study in private institutions. I don't know why I feel that way, I guess this is based on how I grew up. I went to a lot of private schools, and some public schools in the United States and London. The public schools in London are good, actually. But I don't think I will bring them up there. In most private schools, I actually don't want there to be any emphasis on religion - but I know most private schools do that. I guess I can put them in very good "secular" international schools.

HI! For me what ever school you enrolled or your children, at least your being educated. And we don't know that some public are better than private or some private are better than public.

I have studied in a public school when I am young but when I got to college I study in private school. There is always a big difference if you study in public school the degree of education or quality is very much wide. I mean private school is better than public school. In private school the education is much more defined and solid. There is no denying the fact that if you graduated form a private school you have much better future ahead but then it always entirely depend on your abilities too. But then some people who graduated in public schools have better lives than those who came from private school.

I had the experience of studying both in Public and Private and all I can say is.. I want to study in a private school. I had a culture shock in Public. They seem to be barbaric to me. One petty fight leads to gang war. They do not talk with finesse at all. They trash talk all the time. Good thing I was back in Private in college. They have punishments in Public school if they did not do their homework and they clean the floors with floorwax! I mean, In private school, sure we also clean our room. We arrange the cluttered seats, erase the board, we take the chalk powder off the erasers. But apply floorwax? Also. the teachers are so abusive. The teachers would ask their students do errands for them even if its already a personal thing that they should take care themselves!

Basically it depends on where you are. There are public schools around that are better than private schools so it is best to look around like that of shopping when choosing the right school. If you think it would be best if my children would go to school to the same school where you studied that would be great. But sometimes you are now located far away from your old school so you must shop around your area. Consider your finances and take note of fees especially on the private schools.

I also studied in a private school since kindergarten up to college. There's a lot of different how the private school manage their student. They have curriculum that public school don't have. In public school if the teacher is not around or absent the student don't have a class on that subject. Sometimes i saw public student having cut there classes. That's what i saw because our house was near in the public high school.

the private school is not good for poor student because the private school is large fees so the poor student is not pay this fees and our country in india most of people are poor so the public scool in good.

I would choose a PRIVATE SCHOOL.. when i was in nursery until grade1 i was enrolled in a private catholic school.. but i did not finished my elementary in that school, i was transfered in a PUBLIC SCHOOL because of financial problem.. i could say that the private school is more good than the public school because when it comes to teaching the private school are very strict and good teachers although some public schools ar also good but when it comes to the books or other sources.. the private schools are complete while the public schools are not. i experienced when i was in elementary but when i got in high school until college, i wsnst able to experienced it now coz im already enrolled in a private school again.. im very lucky that i was send to my parents in a private school..
