Is this the way to Have controll on their birth rate by the Mother Nature? what

Lion King The lions are the ruler of the Jungle,while all the animals particularly all the carnivorous have the same habit of hunting down the weaker and injured ones but still the lions are the pride of the vast territorial land escape, have any one of us have wondered why is it so? is it b'coz they are blesses to be so or b'coz all the animals do like to be the slaves of these four legged beast. Actually these lions are heavily built there paws when used against its prey,have a tremendous strength with which it strike of about 8-10 pounds of weight behind it,and without loosing any moment they straight way take hold of the breathing channel of its prey,and do the killing,in a planned and coordinating manner one after the other play their individual part as a whole team,surprisingly here the female or the lioness takes the lead.If the male lion is there then the females happyly share its kill with the king and only after that all the females feast upon it latter latter on. Isn't it not surprising there is no one to challenge the king and its family or the pride as a whole,then how come the cubs the future king gets killed by the its own group members,what's the purpose,is this is the way to have controll on their birth rate by the Mother Nature? what While I was visiting the KolKata Alipore zoo with my family I was wondering when One of my child asked about the new born lion cubs.
