i have a few magazines to sell and unfortunately when they were mailed to me they put my address on them with those annoying labels and i dont want to try to put them off since it will damage the magazine i want to sell but is there a way to loosen up the glue on the label to remove it without screwing up the magazine? i know a few years ago some one told me how but i totally forgot and i need to start selling them asap.. any ideas? and do you know if the labels will make the magazine worthless or less valuable? i mean some mags are actually printing your address on them now so its unavoidable!

Well I can tell you what works for books. When ever there are labels on books that I have I use peanut butter to loosen the lables. But the the finish on the cover is more sturdy then on a magazine, the peanut butter oils may seep in to the paper, but you could always try it on a magazine that is not valuable and see what happens. I usually put the peanut butter on and the wipe it off and pull off the label and then I clean it with a baby wipe really well in case someone who is allergic to peanuts gets the book, I make sure there is no peanut residue on there. There is also a product they sell at hardware stores called Goo Gone. Again though I don't know if they would wreck the delicate paper of the magazine. You could also try putting them in the freezer to see if the glue crisps up then you might be able to peel the lables off easily. If you find out what works please let me know.

I would say heat, but I am not sure if that would do the trick or not, another thing that popped into my head is nail polish remover but that wouldn't work as it'd get the magazine cover wet. I'd just mark it out myself, that looks tacky but... it does the trick.

yeah that would mess up the paper.. its like they are making it to where if you are a collector you have to buy them in the store since the tags mess up if you get them subscription wise

I know they need to glue them on good so they don't fall off but really sometimes they glue them so hard even on glass labels are hard to remove. I don't know what you could do....I have seen some that they actually cut the labels right off.
