Tomorrow I have the day off work. The twins have no school. Teacher development day or something. So I get a four day weekend. Dearra's little nose is bent out of shape. She has school. I pointed out to her that she gets out of school a week earlier than the twins. That didn't help. It was sort of like, "what do I get NOW?" What can I say, life doesn't always deal exactly the same thing to each of us, and we need to learn how to deal with it. What's your latest "not fair" story?

I can't get Bill Gates to send me a small percentage of his money so that I can easily move out of this situation without having to negotiate everything. (I'm such a whiner)...

No thanx. Mine looks much more handsome than that. But thanx for the offer, though.

Hi dawn, Brace yourself. The competition between siblings does not end...not ever. I have 4 daughters. 3 are all grown and I have a 16 yr old still at home. I hear how much more the 16 yr old gets away with than they did at that age. My oldest daughter said the same about the 24 and 25 yr old. It just never ends. I have been raising kids since I was 21. I am 54 now. I have worked hard and been responsible and if life were fair then I would be lying on a beach in hawaii right about now soaking up the sun and sipping on martini's. It's only fair, right? Whoever told them that life was fair was a big fat liar!

I recently have had a TON of life's not fair bs dumped on me BUT rather then dwell on it and spazz about it I am trying my darnedest to find solutions to the problems, and the ones that have no answers I will try to just suck up and deal with to the best of my ability. I am really trying to be a positive person and before I got this 500 pounds of stress dumped on me I was doing really well and feeling awesome but now I feel like I am in a huge rainstorm (rain and wind being the negativities, stress, and discouragement) and the sun (positive, answers, and ability to move on from things I can't change or that have no answers to the best of my ability) is NOWHERE in sight!

I guess all you can do is tackle one thing at a time, and hope that more things don't pile up while you're doing so...

My latest not fair story is struggling to find a new place to rent as the house I'm in now currently the foundation is horrible have had workers here fixing it but they are doing a CRAPPY job they are basicially just covering up the leaking problem....I'm mixed as I love the area I am in and city but I HATE my house and a good friend wants me to move where she is and I am sooooo tempted but don't want to pull my kids away from their school opportunities here....That is my unfair story lol....

Honestly Blue a bigger city would have a lot better places to live for a better price range (sounds like if you moved in with your friend for the first bit would be a LOT cheaper), schooling for your kids would be REALLY easy to find in a bigger city, and your kids would also have more opportunities in a bigger city. That is why I am hoping that hubby is going to compromise with somewhere that we can live. I understand Calgary was too big for him as it was for me too but other crap got in the way (mainly stress and me being very ill) so we didn't have a chance to figure out where we were going to move to and now he's got his job back so for now it looks like we are staying here.

I've been looking since the leak occured.....I am still thinking of moving but at the same time with my son just starting this new school I couldn't pull him away from it now and it would be putting things in a way faster motion with getting my relationship back so it's alot to think about....That and the place i'm thinking is closer to my mom but further from my dad....Alot to think about lol...

I wondered the same thing, but then I realized that no matter your situation or how talented or smart you are, we all have problems. We all get sad at one point or cry. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, its just that those more fortunate ones, know how to play their strengths I guess.

Something we all have to learn, life isn't always fair. Knowing that doesn't automatically make it easy to deal with sometimes though.

My latest ‘not fair’ is that it was my b’day on 1st and nobody except hubby gave me anything at all Hubby gave me money to spend as I wish (what a relief, in any case)…son just wished me and MY PARENTS ??? … to say that I’m shocked and surprised and hurt is a mild way of putting it. Being their only child, I was expecting something from them…OK…daddy’s been like that always but mom at least remembers. Due to old age, she keeps forgetting things but my son had reminded her again and again so much so that when I went to pick him up at her place after my office, she did call me birthday baby (at 38) and wished me well but THAT WAS IT!!! not fair, ma…so what if I’m on to 39 now

I usually feel like most of life isn't fair. Mostly with me it's about money. It really gets to me that people who supposedly have less money than I do seem to be able to do more than we can. They go out to eat more often, go on fun trips or outings more often, buy more stuff than we can... I don't get how. It's also not fair that my husband works so hard all the time and we don't have a whole lot to show for it. I'm not asking for much, I don't want to be rich.. I just want to be able to afford to do fun things more often and eat out more often.. basically like we used to do before this darn recession hit so hard. It's also not fair that my husband's company can't afford to give him a raise! Not a single dime.. he's already making too much, but in the grand scheme of things he doesn't make a whole lot at all. Yep, life isn't fair! Most of my kids understand that.. except for maybe the oldest, he's the only one who ever gets mopey when he doesn't get what he wants.. I think it's a teenage thing because he used to be very grateful for every little thing he got and every opportunity that he got... now nothing is good enough. Drives me crazy!

I don't really have an amazingly high IQ level, but I used to be one of the bright students in my nursing class. I was among those who could even explain our lessons in a way that students understood better than if the teacher discussed it. (sorry if I sound like I'm bragging now. Maybe it's just my way of compensating for what I don't have now that others have) But now, I am also among those who still haven't gone abroad. You see, Philippines is one of the many countries which sends off nurses abroad due to the high demand. Yes I am one of those who follow that exile. Some have reached promised land. I have not even crossed the red sea.

Do the kids go to school in different districts? Here when one school is closed they are all closed unless there has been some sort of a major problem with one of the schools (like the time that one of the elementary schools had experienced a fire). That said, the last not fair moment that I've had has been going on for quite some time. The reason for that is that my husband and I lived with my mother for several years, but the entire time that we lived with her we paid rent. Well, my brother and sister-in-law have been living with her for over three years and they've never paid rent once.

It's a little odd here. The elementary and middle schools are in one district, the high schools have their own district. They have somewhat synced their schedules up, but they're not exactly the same.

It's not fair that I can't think up a good "not fair" comment on your discussion!! Almost every "not fair" thing going on in my life that I can think of is "that way" for a reason - I really shouldn't complain. But for the sake of the discussion, I'm going to say it's not fair that my parents have been much more lenient with my younger sister all these years. She's getting married "sometime" this year, but my folks aren't shoving their ideas about who to invite down her throat like they did with me. Well, they are trying to, but they're basically throwing their hands in the air and giving up - saying fine, do what you want - to her. Actually, like I said, I shouldn't complain . . . we may actually get a Big Bear skiing trip out of it this winter!!!!!!!

I went to a wedding up at Big Bear, but it was a summer wedding, no ski trip. My in-laws had all these people we "had to" invite to our wedding. Most of them were never seen again, and the reason we "had to" turned out not to be that they were close, but that they had invited the in-laws to their child's wedding. I left some people off of my side because of some of them too!

Too many 'not fair' stories for me. I've grown accustomed to it already. I always feel that if there was anything bad to happen, I always get the worst. Or if I get something good, there is always a corresponding bad thing to happen to me. It's really not fair!

Life is not fair, but it can be very good. I have to remind myself of that. Right now nothing is totally unfair on my end of the deal, so we are all good here. I could use more money, but who couldn't.

Well since you work and I assume you work with several other people...there is always that one....or two that are totally slackers. I don't mind working hard and basically I benefit myself by doing that...but when there is a new task on board who do they ask to do the extras? Yup...sometimes it does get a bit wearing and I try not to get upset about it.....but how are they supposed to learn to pick up some of the slack when they never deal it out to them?

Not fair gets no where with me. Believe it or not the words, LIFE IS FAIR, are not printed anywhere when you come into this world. Sorry but I am hot on this subject, particulary when uttered by a normal, middle class, American teen. Try switching with a child from Africa or Iraq or any other of the hundreds of children who suffer from lack of the bare necessities in this world. Just tell here that's life.

My latest no fair is my fridge that we bought new about 5 or 6 years ago broke and we had to replace it. Who wants money in savings anyway right. Well a few months ago the washer and my husbands computer broke in the same weekend, and at the end the weekend the dvd player broke. AHHHHHH eveything needs to stop breaking. Oh and the icemaker pipe wouldn't turn off so my husband goes under the house and there is a pipe that has been leaking for some time now. Hi new plumber I had to call when my husband couldn't get it to stop leaking!! I get it I called the home warranty people now hopefully they do the inspection and we can get a plan before anything else breaks, I can't afford to replace anything else right now. Oh and today my flash drive that has all my daycare records on it broke, luckly I was able to hold it into the usb drive tight enough to get all my info off of it. At least it is almost friday. My big plans this weekend include checking out a new McDonalds that they built by my house. I am so excited, I really need to get out more
