yes, i did have tried to bribe my way out with a traffic enforcer, some accepted it some don't. some don't accept small amount, but some just get it anyway. Bribing out makes your time easy, since you don't have to drop-by to the apprehending officer office to claim your license, especially when their office is way too far from where you live or you work.
But now, I try to drive carefully and not to violate any traffic rules.
Honestly to speak, I would not suggest you people out there to bribe them, corrupt officers start being corrupt because there are people who makes them to be corrupt. you may want to speak it out with them in a nice and humble way, admit your fault makes them happy that they have accomplished their duty as a Traffic Officer, they might give you second chances.

i don't drive though i know how. but if ever it happens to me that i get caught violating the traffic rules, i guess i'll have to wait that the officer gives the motive that he can be bribed. otherwise, i'll be facing another case of bribery. duh.

actually i drive. but only when i am in the province. i use a motorcycle (a dirt bike type) and go around the town for sometime. and a few times i drive our four wheels (van type) to a short distance. i don't like cars or big vehicles that much. i feel it's so bulky on the road. i can't pass through immediately when i want to. lol.

yes, I've done it 3x... but only guilty bribing them about 1 time it happened. The fact that it's a easy way out option. imagine the hassles if your license got confiscated. I was guilty only 1 time because of I knew it was color coding and still went ahead.. the other 2 was actually their abuse of authority and I was really, really annoyed over it.
so, after this... I promise not to bribe anymore!! AKO ANG SIMULA... YES! ^.^

I really have forgotten all about it. but don't worry, I haven't drive for months now after resigning from work. No need to drive either since I'm always at home most of the time. ^.^

I have never even thought of doing this. This is something that only works well in the movie. I wouldn't be able to follow through with bribing a traffic enforcer. it just wouldn't be worth the penalty if i did. Why bring on more trouble when you already have plenty to deal with? @thesids (22180)

Cops in India are more for making money during festive times and there are many chances that if you are in India and driving around festival days, you are more likely to fall a victim in their hands. And there is always a way out - "Take them to a corner and hand them some cash...". Many a times, your offer would be accepted and you can move ahead scott free. To avoid this, use helmets and try to have one pillion at best. Otherwise your chances of getting caught and making their festival more festive are higher.
I have been a victim many a times and on 90% times I have used this method to 100% results. As for other countries, I am not sure!

I don't want to bribe anyone because of my mistakes. First of all, I hate bribing. the reason most of our government officials, police do illegal activities because we try to give some amount of money under their table. We should also put them in jail together with the corrupt officials.

There is no other way but to bribe traffic enforcer. No doubt there are diferent types ... moderate strict and honest{may their tribe increase}and high fly.We are in a hurry and there is no timme to argue or pacify them by sweet words.Or be prepared to face the consequences. That is all. The alternative is as suggested to strictly follow the traffic regiulations. However many a time it is not possible for no fault of us.

I have only been caught once and I did not have to bribe the police officer, my friend did. The good thing about it is the police officer did not give in, whew! I really do not like to bribe anyone, it was just this one time that the car in front of me did not have that courtesy for me so I ended up being halted by the police officer. But I always go along the rules on the road for my sake and everybody should do it as well.

Saying that your speedometer stopped working helps sometimes, also when you accept what they tell you and apologize for it you get off with a warning!!

Yes I confess I have done this a couple of times. But since I drive carefully now I don't do it anymore. :D
I know it's wrong to bribe a traffic officer. Sometimes I think that it is us citizens who are mostly making them corrupt by offering them money instead letting them allow to do their work. We tempt them a lot! Don't you think?

No, I don't believe in bribing. I have never tried to bribe anyone. When I was taking my driver's license test, I know the government agent was wanting something but I just played dumb and I was surprised when I passed. I like to have a good conscience.
