I Wish The UK Had An Online Shop Like Zappos

I can't begin to tell you how BORING the UK's shoe websites are! There seems to be a choice of only 3 colours; 2 shades of brown and black. That's generally IT! Sometimes Schuh can be adventurous and offer a red pair of shoes or boots here and there (oh, and not forgetting the lovely white) but that's as far as it goes. Zappos, on the other hand..well, what can I say? This site is amazing! I'd love to know if anyone in the US or Canada has bought stuff from Zappos because they can't be that perfect, surely? The first time I looked at Zappos (and believe me, I was on the site for AGES) I began to realise that they don't ship outside the US..only to Canada and US principalities..or whatever the term is. A friend of mine in the US (unconnected with MyLot) once told me that she'd order a pair, ship them, then I could pay her back via PayPal. I thought this was so kind of her to offer this "service" if you like but I declined..and I would decline again because I haven't got the cash anyway. I just like to browse, sad person that I am. So, tell me, is Zappos as good as their customer reviews say they are?

Yeah, I've bought shoes there, don't remember which ones. Don't remember much except that they were expensive!

So I've never used Zappos (bit hard being over here) but I know that feeling when you see such great stuff on sites which only deliver in the States. Something I was told to do is if I spot something I like do a search for it on Kelkoo, it's surprising how many products can be brought over here just from different, sometimes obscure stores. If that fails it's always worth checking out ebay as well as sometimes you can get stuff on there from the states, although a little bit more risky.

To be honest I've not had good dealings with eBay (and neither have my in-laws) so I don't even go on that site anymore. However, lots of people swear by it and good luck to them. I know what you mean about "obscure" sites. SimilarWeb and StumbleUpon are two great options for when I get bored of going on the same old sites.

I have never shopped at Zappos, I probably could not afford it. I think I have looked, and you can certainly bet I will go look right away after I finish responding to you. I feel like my feet are hard to fit well, and so if it is not a brand I have already bought a bunch of, I will tend to buy my shoes in person. But looking is free and fun.

I agree that uk sites are nowhere near as good as US equivalents. Look at amazon.co.uk compared to amazon.com! I dont buy many shoes, but i love gadgets. In the USA, there is thinkgeek, a truely amazing website, full of proper cool t shirts, gadgets, stuff like that. Here, we have firebox, which is just one or two so called "gadgets" and then hundreds of drinking games/stuff that has no use/over priced stuff. Look at anime stuff, in USA, there are tons and tons. For uk, i have only found one that ships to uk without charging ridiclous amounts (399animeshop). I wish that shipping costs were down, i lvoe thinkgeek, and they sell really cool stuff, i have just enver had the chance to buy anything due to the shipping cost sometimes cosing more than the item itself!

It's a shame that the shipping costs are so high. I like ordering stuff like perfume from Cheap Smells as it is based in the Channel Islands, therefore no VAT. I don't think they have a delivery charge either if memory serves.
