Good day to all, In our house, we used to save electricity consumption. One way we do is avoiding the usage of appliances which consumes too much electricity. And one of this is the use of iron. For this reason, we try to do all the ironing in just one day. However, it is very tiring to do the ironing in one day. Wherein, you need to iron too much clothes. We come to think of it, if we will just do the ironing everyday, the electricity consumption will somehow be affected. Is there any other effective ways or procedure on how to save electricity consumption? Do you iron your clothes everyday or every week?

That is good, at least, the electricity bill will not add up to your expense. Aside from that, it will not affect your budget.

Hi, airshelia. I iron my clothes each and every time when it is time for me to go somewhere. I don't iron all of my clothes in one week. I don't have enough of clothes to put on hangers. My wardrobe is pretty much limited right now. Whee I get some more clothes, I will iron all of them in one week. I used to iron my son's clothes like this many years ago. I did this because he was in daycare. I also worked five days in a week too.

I have no problem with admitting that I absolutely detest ironing! I live alone anyway and so I guess I don't bother with it much. I don't rule out ironing altogether and I only use the iron when I have to iron one t shirt before going out just to make sure that all the wrinkles have been removed. I think that everyone is different, I would much rather be doing other things and who cares what others think if I have a wrinkle or two in my clothing! In relation to electricity usage I do try to monitor what I am using! My electricity provider sent me this free electricity monitor and it tells me exactly what I am using in any given period of time. I'm quite happy with it and it let's me know when I can cut down on certain things. Anyway, I try and do what is required in order to save on the electricity. Andrew

hi airasheila, i iron our clothes twice every week. I do it that way because that's more convenient for me and like hat you have said its very tiring to do it all at once. and i just iron those clothes that needs to be ironed, and hat i do to other clothes is just fold it nicely to avoid being too crumpled. to save electricity, well you can try turning off the lights that are not in use, some of my friends, turn off their refrigerators while ironing their clothes, i am not sure how effective that as but they say it works. and one more thing, i heard that its better to iron clothes at night, electricity consumption is a lesser when you iron at night as compared when you do it earlier when the sun is still up and the environment is still hot... as to hat reason, i am not sure as well but i guess its true coz i have observed it with our own electric bill.

Honestly, I don't Iron my clothes, LOL., cause sometimes, they really doesn't look that bad. Hehehe. that's why I often use fabric conditioner, it really does help the clothes. it not only lessens our elecricity consumption but also it helps me save time cause I don't need to schedule hours in my day to do my ironing.

I iron clothes only when they need it: if the collar or button placket is wrinkled or rumpled. Otherwise, I fold my clothes after I remove them from the dryer. After I launder my dress clothes and fine washables, I shake them well, and put them in the dryer for 5 minutes to warm and de-wrinkle. Then I remove them and hang them on hangers to dry. They are always wrinkle-free, and the clothes last far longer. With all of my laundry, I shake it out well after I remove it from the washer. It goes in the dryer, and after it is dry, I fold it immediately. The clothes and linens are always wrinkle-free.

I seldom iron my clothes.I usually leave this task for a special occasion when something I need to wear has been hanging unused in my closet. i do have a few family members that may may feel differently though. I have some close family that enjoy ironing their clothes, maybe not everyday, but often.

I tend to iron my clothes once a week, not because of electricity saving but because in summer it's a torture to iron clothes, so I prefer to have just one bad day a week instead of everydays To save electricity I always put the air condicioner in 27 celsius degrees, so I won't die because of the heat but I won't die because of a high electricity bill either

Good thought on energy conservation. Not only it saves money, it saves the earth too! But we should not cut on essentials! To iron clothes is essential. But switching on tv every time is not needed. May be we can switch off the tv while spending some time together with family and friends, turn off lights when no one is in a room, properly designing rooms fitted with AC to increase cooling efficiency (in hot seasons) and properly insulating rooms to avoid heat escape in colder regions. Remember energy saved will make the earth last longer

Actually with my clothes I'm not more of ironing because I use fabric conditioner and sometimes with my polo's I let it dry the old way without spinning it or squeezing it. When the third rinse is done, I don't squeeze instead I hang it right away and let it dry under the sun and WALA... no wrinkles at all.

Hello there! I used to iron our clothes every week end, night time. If not Saturday, Sunday night. I do this once in a week only because just like you and almost the rest of us, i also need to save for our electric bill. Its not that easy nowadays to pay for a very high electric consumption, plus the fact that we also need to conserve energy because its a big help for our mother nature too, to at least, conserve our usage of energy so that we could lessen the consumption of our non-renewable resources that is needed to generate electricity. Ive learned from Meralco, our source of electric power here in the Philippines that appliances who give coolness and heat are those who required more consumption for us like aircon, refrigerator, oven toaster, flat iron etc. That's why, i do not used this appliances too often, if there's a replacement for this, like instead of using rice cooker, i shifted to cooked rice on a stove. I do not use our aircon for the whole sleeping time of ours. We just used this 3 hours a night then the rest would be electric fan. When ironing clothes, i see to it that i arrange our clothes properly to avoid creating crumple on it that could make my ironing much longer. I also unplugged all the appliances when not in use because they said that even if you're not using them, you will still be charged 25% of its consumptio because it still generates electricity though you're not using them. Those are some of my ways on how I could save for our electric bill. Good night!

For refrigerators as I know old refrigerators consume too much electricity and the new ones consume less. Maybe it's the same in irons but I'm not sure. Maybe they produced such irons you can search for it. All I know is irons consume much electricity. I sometimes iron clothes twice (one after washing them and the other time before wearing), but usually once especially before wearing.
