I used to have occasional chest pains.., i felt it the first time.., 5 years ago.., I was laughing real hard over a joke.., and suddenly.., I felt that sharp pain in my chest and I paused in the middle of my laughter and my face was twisted in pain.., I didn't move a single bit.., for it makes the pain worst..,it lasted a few seconds.., and it was gone on its own.. I didn't seek medical help because it never happened again.., after a year or two.., it happened again while I was laughing.. i don't know why.., but it always happen when I am laughing really heavily.., but it only occurred once that years.., so i was not that worried.., have you experienced the same? Have you consulted a physician? What was their opinion about it?

Hi deve_annrn This problem may be not so serious, but my advice is that you go for the heart checkup. Sometime this problem occurs due to the high level of cholesterol & if the level of cholesterol is very high then there is a problem of Angina Pectoris and after that Myocardial Infarction & finaly heart attack. So quickly go for the checkup after all "Prevention is better than cure".

At your age i never experience that until I reached at my maturity because I am diabetic and sometimes I experienced chest pains but not all chest pains related to heart problems. In your case you must see your physician because that is not normal at your age.It would be easier to cure if the problem would be detected earlier. Hope it would just be fine...nothing more serious... Mobhomeir here..

That makes it more alarming to me.., because I am too young to experience this symptoms.., I do have a blood disorder.., and oxygen is carried by blood and my theory was.., It could probably be caused by a sudden depletion of oxygen in my cardiac muscles because I was laughing too hard.., I don't want to think of any other cause.., It scares me.. I want to be optimistic about it..=) thanks.. Hope your diabetes is under control..which one is yours? type I or II? =)

I don't know yet because I just found my sugar level last week when I happened to check it with my ma in law. I forgot what is Type 1 and 2. My reading was 195. My last check up before this latest was 152 and the doctor said he would not gave my any medication cause it was just a chemical diabetic. My sugar would be lowered through exercise. It was two years ago..right not I never do jogging anymore...no more exercise...

From what part of your chest the pain is coming from? Is it from the center part? Or, is it from the left side of your chest. If the pain is radiating from the center of your chest, then there's a possibility you have a heart problem. But if the pain is radiating from the left side of your chest, it may only be a hyperacidity of your stomach.

The chest pain does not radiate to any other part.., It starts in the center of my chest and stays there.., The pain makes it hard for me to move and breath...

I used to have chest pain sometime, at 1st I did not know what was the reason until one day I found out that it was actually just a muscle pain caused by the bed that I used. Some part of the bed have make my muscle pain when I sleep on it..and always when I sleep at the some place, I will get chest pain, I went to the doctor for checkup, they said there is nothing wrong with my lung. Finally after I changed my bed. No more chest pain for me...

I haven't consulted a physician with my chest pains. I have heard one of my friends too having chest pains and fatigue. This is because of stress and too much work. I also experience one time, I had chest tightness because maybe of my diet and i slept late at night. I don't know the reason why. Back in my college days, i also remember that I had chest tightness because maybe it was a hangover!haha

It might be a muscular pain. But do not neglect. You have to keep in mind that chest pain is merely a symptom, not a sign & no diagnosis can be made from it until & unless the cause of the pain is detected by thorough examination of the patient and different investigations. After confirmation of the diagnosis, you can only comment whether to worry or not. The following causes of chest pain will show that it can be anything from a catastrophe to triviality- 1)Heart burn. 2)Benign chest wall pain. 3)Anxiety or panic disorder. 4)Asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy. 5)Recent chest trauma. 6)Peptic ulcer syndrome. 7)Costochondritis. 8)Oesophagitis or oesophageal spasm. 9)Angina due to coronary artery spasm or disease. 10)Pericarditis. 11)Mitral valve prolapse. 12)Heart attack. There are some other causes also which I am not mentioning here. So if you ever feel any sort of chest pain, do not neglect it. Watch its type, time of appearnce and all other characteristics and immediately consult with a doctor for his advice. The doctor will advise you accordingly. Never try to do any self-medication as it may aggravate the condition.

Sounds just like what I had once. But this happened with movement of neck and laughter. If you really laugh hard, with the head thrown back, then I suggest you consider something related to your cervical spinal cord. (Me in medical profession too!) I read an interesting article on cervical chest pain in one of the websites. It could be a cervical chest pain
