Do You pray Just to Give Praise

Have you ever prayed to God just for the sole purpose of praising Him and thanking Him ? I usually do at night before going to bed. i think of all the great and small gifts He has blessed me with through out the day and say thank-you

Yes I do. Prayer to me is just giving thanks, praising and worshiping His Name. Though it's wrong to ask the things you needed but God knows it already before you ask Him. So every time I pray, I just spend it in thanking and praising God for all the good things He has done and for what He is going to do in my life

Sorry for the wrong statement above... "Though it's not wrong to ask God the things you needed but God knows it already before you asked..... " God said, it is my WILL for you to live an abundant life. Therefore, we should be happy, rejoice and thank God for His will in our lives

Yes most of my prayers revolve around praising and thanking the Lord. Only when I have something that is bothering me do I add it to my prayer.

my prayers do revolve around thanks and praise but i find it very difficult to pray because there are always other things to do. i always end up feeling bad but i still do not bother to pray. When i do pray, it's usually around the time i have an exam and ask the Lord for help

Hi elmare and oogygalla Good for you elmare.But there is always requests I add in as well.I believe God wants to be a part of our life and wants us to ask of Him oogygalla why not set aside a quiet time first thing in the morning and just talk with God. may the sunshine of Gods love bless you

Whenever I pray, i would honestly say that i do give my thanks and praise to him. but not entirely praise and worship. I have to admit that my prayers also include my wishes to God.

Hi chiyosan It is okay to ask things of our Father.After all doesn't it say in the Bible " Ask and ye shall recieve." I begin my prayers saying thank you. Then pray for others,after that I pray for myself and finally apologize for my sins and ask for forgiveness God bless you

I always try to pray every morning that is to praise God and asked Him for help as well. So full of problems lately. Thought of ending my life one way or the other. Good thing it had not materialize. Problems of mine can be sooo overwhelming that at times I want to end it all already. Oh well, here I am. Still alive and kicking. Still praying that my life will end up in an upward and happy trend not only for me and my family. Please pray for me that I get through all these obstacles before the end of September of 2010.

Yes, i always pray just to praise and thank him for all the blessing. And also asking for the forgiveness of my sins. Be always there with me and my family all the time.

I praise God many times. The church I attend believes in standing up just to pray God for a few minutes or so. I try to remember each time something nice happens to thank HIM just like I would thank anyone here.

Welcome to mylot I pray twice, once in the morning just after opening my eyes and again when i go to bed, i have never seen god but i feel the presense and the blessings.. Thanks for sharing. God bless you. Welcome always friend, cheers. Professor. .

I don't. I just don't 'remember' it myself to pray just to give praise. But thank God, I'm always 'reminded' to give thanks and praise. Thank you godsgardener for posting this discussion which reminding me to give thanks again.
