Its been many years since I last watch movie in the theater. I rather buy CD or DVD and watch movie at the comfort of my home. I think the last time I watch movie is 2004. So about 6 years ago. Price wise the cost of watching movie and the cost of buying CD is almost the same. So way not buy CD right? You can watch movie all the time after that.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of going to the theater. I love the big screen and the surround sound and just being able see a movie before everyone else who waits until the movie comes out on DVD. Unfortunately, I haven't been to see as many movies in the theater as I used to. Having the time AND the money is rare, especially since I tend to work on second and third shifts and my friends mostly work on the first and second. But when it all works out, I especially enjoy the midnight showings. Granted, its usually quite crowded and I always seem to end up behind the biggest and/or most talkative person in the theater but, hey, its nice to splurge on oneself every once in a while!!

If that is the case. If you watch movie just tell me the schedule and I will not watch same time with you.lolz.Don't make me it wrong way. But I really don't like watching movie with my friend who is load. Come on. I watch movie to watch not to listen. I know a friend that even the most boring movie we watch he can laugh. That how loud he is when we watch movies.

I am sorry to say that I may disagree with you. First of all, the atmosphere of watching movies at home and in the cinema are totally different. At home you will never be able to achieve thundering and booming sound that you will get from cinema's awesome sound system. Plus, no matter smooth your HDTV is, it won't grow as huge as what cinema screen offers. Second, when you go to the cinema with friends or your lover, you can also enjoy happy atmosphere. While watching horror or stunning movie and we gasp, the other will follow. When funny thing happens we can laugh together with more than 20 people. And, would it be romantic to kiss your lover in the middle of romance movie and taste the sweetness of caramel pop corn? Another minus value about buying DVDs is the DVD version usually comes late, probably two or three months after the movie aired.

Me. I only buy dvd or cd when I like the movie. So its means that I watch it first in the theater or in the cable before buying a cd. So far I have more than 1000 collections of movie. All original.

I believe its been a year or two years since i haven't watch in the theatre. For the reason i can download on net and watch it on my computer. I only watch when there is a movie that I really like, like Superman and if i like mostly the cast in the movie i will definitely watch it. As of now there is no movie that makes me excite to watch in theatre and I am on a little tight budget now so i will save my money instead of watching in a big screen.

so,you are a fan of superman... well,i find spiderman more interesting than him.well we do have different wants in life. and i also like to watch films which there are actors i like or the story itself that i liked. sometimes there are films which has great story but not-so-good actors that's why sometimes it can't get too much appreciation from others. i agree, why spend your money in a big screen when you can save money and watch the film for free? at the comfort of your own home...

@grecychunny26 and annavi23 Well if you can give me your number then I can treat a movie for two.. hehehe.. Kidding. Usually or rather actually people love to watch movies if they have companion. Come on. All myself I never watch movies alone in theater. Its a sad experience to watch movie alone. lolz.

I like to go to the cinema all the time, it may be expensive, but I enjoy the experience of it. The big screen, the junk food, and being with your friends make it all feel very fun. I do like to have movies on DVD, but they just can't beat the experience of the cinema (unless you have a HD projector like my brother does).

wow a projector? but my taste is for big screen tv. 50 plus screen is okay with me. I'm not really into super big screen. I prefer 50 to 72 range of big tv screen. larger than that its pixelized. That why I like 50 to 72 inches range. But I don't like projector. Because although its has theater like atmosphere. But for me tv screen is much clearer.

For me it does matter what we are watching. Because I also want them to enjoy what they watch. I don't want them to sleep and let me alone watching because what we are watching is boring..lol.. .. Wow.. Its seems your brother has a good projector..hehehe.
@Darkoli (255)
15 Sep 10
OK, but the beauty of a high definition projector is that it's very good quality and you can have it any size you want. It can be as big as the wall or as small as a normal TV. It also depends on what your using to project on, my brother uses a specially designed background to make it as clear and crisp as possible. Oh also he has mega surround sound to go with it. =P But back on topic, as long as I'm watching a good movie with friends and family, it doesn't really matter what I'm watching it on.

yes,i agree with you.it is much more practical to watch movies in the comfort of your own home instead of sending expensive movie tickets in theaters. i myself have last seen a movie with a friend because he treat me.that was just last month. but the last time before that is like i guess four years ago or more.i never had budget on that.well,i was always treated by my friends who i seldom see, that's why.hehe

of course! i don't see anyone who doesn't like to be treated when it's free. there even have people who got close because you are always treating them free. who doesn't want that? yeah,we are friends, but i don't how much about you. how old are you and where do you live? and if ever you would treat me a movie ticket, then i'll treat you instead.for us to both watch the film, what do you think? i don't like the idea you like to treat me then you will just wait outside? is that fair enough? well,if it makes you happy, count me in!

When I have no internet connection I love to download movies via internet. Now that I have unlimited internet connection. I don't download movies. For two reason. One its seems theirs no trill in downloading. Second. I'm afraid that movie has a virus. That why I rather go to music store to look for bargain movies that I already watch or want to watch and but it.

it is good that you still got money to buy the dvds.everyone has their on way, some will prefer to watch at the cinema, some will only download ans share with others, while some would rather love to have the cds or dvds.it does not matter as long as we enjoy watching the movies.

It costs $10 where I live to watch a movie in the theaters now; $7 for the matinee. Add popcorn and a drink and that's alot of money. And that's just for one person. There is this one movie theater in town where the tickets are $3.75-day or night; $1.50 on Wednesdays. It's an older theater and the movies they show have been around for half year before they show them but it's a lot cheaper so I don't mind waiting to see a movie if I really want to watch it in the theater. If I don't care either way, I can borrow DVD's at the library for free. The only problem there though is that the last 4 DVD's we borrowed were scratched and kept skipping while watching. I like staying home to watch b/c then you can pause it to answer the phone, get more popcorn, or use the bathroom.

Why not download or buy dvd? I prefer to buy dvd on sales. Its much cheaper. Beside I'm more on collecting movies also. So for me it does not matter if I bought it after two years. What matters is that I have a copy and I bought it cheap.

Yeah. Big screen. Sorround sound. That life. love. I do agree theirs a movie really created to be shown in big screen. The trill and everything is increase ten folds. Theirs a great satisfaction in watching a movie that is born to be big in the first place.

If there is a movie in the theatre that calls for a big screen effect - I'll go. But to spend the 10.00 on a movie that isn't filled with superb special effects - it's just not worth it. Saw the Lord of the Ring trilogy on big screen - nothing else would show the granduer and beauty of New Zealand like the big screen - breathtaking.

If i had to choose between the comfort of my home and the comfort of a theatre, i'd choose the comfort of a theatre more often. It's comfy at home no doubt cuz you can turn your cellphone to the max and no one will warn you but they warn you in theatres about that for your own comfort too, not just for the others. When you're going to the bathroom at home it's just right there. You don't have to walk a long way unlike in a theatre but at least in theatres it's well maintained and smells freaking good! Lol. Last but not the least, the size of the screen. If i had a fifty-inch flat screen tv and a banging sound system, i might choose watching movies at home more often than watching it in a movie house but i only have a twenty four inch tv with a mediocre sound system (it's actually the built-in one) so i'd still favor watching it at the movie house. There are a lot of other factors like foods, chicks, etc.. the list just goes on. My main reason is theatres are there for us to enjoy them so why not get out and have fun? Of course if we have the money.

Sounds to me, you don't really care to me about sound systems and effects a theater would give you. You also probably care less about movie technology that has been developed like 3D technology that is going to be developed more for home viewing. Home viewing is basically the comfort of staying at home, but it will never replace any kind of technology that cinema viewing can have even if any of that kind of technology comes to a home. I personally am not a big fan of watching CD/DVD unless if it's a movie or documentary that is unlikely be shown on theaters. Also, I would watch a movie at home that I would not be interested in spending money on in any theater.

And if you love that movie you can keep on watching and watching if you have cd. Problem of today is that we need to be rich to have enough money to enjoy what we can enjoy even if you are just a middle income earner. Now you need to have more to enjoy the same comfort as before.

Wow.. Even though I don't know about netfix..lolz.. But yeah I do watch movies in theater starting last month. I decide to watch movies at least once a month in a theater. I figure that its only 12 times in a year. And in ten years that will only be 120 movies watchs in the theater. So few compare to how many movies shows up every month. Right?
