my daughter doesn't like ice cream

Hello! while most kids like ice cream and we adults just kind of control them from not eating to much, my 1 year old baby is different. she knows what ice cream is. if we are eating ice cream, she would get tempted, but whenever the sweet and cold cream touches her lips, she would grimace. then she would ask for more, but this time, she will just pretend that she is eating and not actually let the cream touch her lips again. one time i asked her would you like ice cream? because people are always coaxing us to do so. but my baby said, "no." haha it is the same with juices and other sweet stuff. she does eat cake from time to time, but sweets seem to have a cloying effect on her. good for her! she would not have to contend with a sweet tooth! and that would also save me a lot of visits to the dentist! lol good day all!

I know it seems to be funny that your daughter doesn't like ice-cream. But I am not surprised to hear that because my son was the same when he was little. At that time I really felt amazed why he refused to eat ice-cream because it was sweet and children should love it. Perhaps he didn't adjust to the cold feeling? I didn't understand. But I can tell you that when your daughter grows up, she will love ice-cream by herself:) Now my son enjoys eating ice-cream:) I love China

I agree youless, it could be the coldness. My daughter never cared for ice cream when she was younger, but now at 4 years old she enjoys ice cream!

Hi, spoiled311. Ice cream is a very tasty treat. I am sorry that your daughter does not like it. Maybe she dislikes the coldness of it, don't you think? I am thinking that maybe one day she will start to enjoy ice cream more better then.

HI, Normally kid will like to eat ice-cream. My son love to eat ice-cream, but I am so lucky that he seldom ask for it,Only when he saw we eat, then he will ask for some. Or else, he seldom will ask for ice-cream by himself. I also restrict the habit of offering him ice-cream,too cold and he may easily get cough. For prevention, I will only offer some ice cream to my son during hot weather once a while. Not every week. Avoid giving too much sweet foods to our kid,it may not good to their teeth. I never give my son eat sweets, but he does eat cakes and he is a cake lover like me. Both of us like to eat those cream cake. But I never give chocolate cake for my son, too heaty and I myself also do not like to eat chocolate cake. So most of the time, I will buy either strawberry or blueberry cake or cheesecake.

Well, isn't she cute? I have seen many cases of people who dislike the typical kinds of food that most of people seem to like. That is a good proof that likings are something unique to every person, so not everyone will like the same. True that your kid will have good and strong teeth!

Maybe she is sensitive to the coldness of the ice cream. It would do her good if she keep up with it until adulthood but I am sure that she will soon discover the pleasures of these foods.

My now 4 year old was never crazy about ice cream until she asked to try it because we were having some last year sometime and now she really likes it. She doesn't like a whole lot of sugar, but she does like something sweet once in a while! I am glad she isn't like me as I have a BIG sweet tooth! I recently decided to change my lifestyle to be healthier and it is going well, but stopping with the sweet stuff has been the toughest part. Not impossible though ... I treat myself once or twice a week and all of the other days I am good (well most days anyways) hahaha.

Hi there, my daughter is turning 3 this november she loves to eat ice cream but with limitation. Whenever i see that she eats too much i tell her to stop, thanks God she doesn't eat more after this. About the cake she doesn't want it although sometimes she ate but not always. I always tell her that eating sweet foods is not good to our health, although i let her eat them but as i said with limitation and supervision,

Hi, One of my children were like that too at your daughter's age. But when my daughter grew up she developed a taste for ice cream and sweets. I think sometimes they just find that the taste is too stimulating at first. My daughter didn't like anything salty either, or anything with a very strong flavor. Which is just as well, as you say its only sweets, something they really don't need.
