Voluntary work?

I help out with fund raising at my local Cats Protection Adoption Centre and tomorrow they have a gala day and I am manning the Tombola stall as I always do. I go to regular meetings and we come up with different ideas for fund raising...I have met some lovely people and made some nice friends there and I always feel that I have done something useful when I have been there. Do you do any voluntary work in your life or give any time to a cause that you are passionate about or just have an interest in?

Oh cool...I'd love more cats but this is my way of meeting lots and doing my bit without bringing too many home, lol. Though Sunday at the fete I was sooooo tempted by a beautiful siamese x boy :o)

It's nice to be able to share a passion with other people isn't it...there's something particularly nice about volunteering to do it too and not being paid for it I find.

That is excellent. Yes, I do take part in volunteer work whenever I have the time and the chance. I am a member of the community association, and many of the community activities require volunteers from time to time. I keep in touch with the organization, and as and when I am needed, I try my best in volunteering there in some of the activities.

Thats great greenline, I don't dedicate too much time to volunteering but when I do I find it very rewarding and love doing it :o)

I joined the Rotary Club several years ago and I did my share in doing some voluntary works for the society. I was getting busy in my office and gradually I drifted out. I long to join again, but I am not sure I have enough time now.

Yes jenny, that's the problem isn't it..life is so busy for everyone nowadays that we don't always have time to do voluntary work unfortunately. Maybe one day you will be able to get back into it

Hello there. I have helped with bits and pieces but not as much as you have so good for you for having the time and heart to work and help others. :-D I would really love to do more for people but it is just time that I have trouble with. But hopefully one day I can. I always give money to charities though. So I hope that I am contributing enough. $-MrDollars-$

Hi MrDollars...I know what you mean, life is just so busy nowadays that we haven't always got time to spare for other things. You contribute financially to charities so I am sure you are 'doing your bit' :o)
