bf/gf in coma. doctor say wont wake up, you wait or shut the machine? :(

hi guys^^ wish it never happens sure^^ but if your bf/gf was in a coma and the doctor said he/she will never wake up what do you do? do you wait 6 monthes and if he/she doesnt wake up you shut the machine? you dont wait and shut in moment the doctor says he wont wake up so you will suffer less? or you would wait all your life till he/she wakes up?^^ about me i would wait forever^^ everyday i would talk to him, read things to him, sing to him^^ i want only one boy in my life ^^ and if i loved him and he loved me too and suddenly that happened i couldnt shut the machine :( i dont blame who did that :( but me i couldnt. what about you guys? please share^^

I have no idea what I would do...I don't think I could shut the machine. I would live with this fact on my conscience for the rest of my life. It matters alot what the person would have liked, had he been a live, to liven with the help of a machine, or if he/she would rather die then do that

yes is very hard to shut the machine and guess what the person would prefer^^ but sure if is many years already like 15 years without awake is bcs probably wont awake anymore. but sure is very sad to shut the machine. is like bcs of us the person is not there anymore but sure is not our fault but we cant avoid to feel this way in beginning. but sure sometimes people have to do that and is very hard so i admire people that are brave enough and shut the machine bcs have to bcs there is no chance really that the person wakes up. but if there is only a little chance i wouldnt shut^^ thanks for your answer^^ im happy you also wouldnt shut but if there wasnt other way we would have to.

aw! that really strikes me in the heart. if i were in that situation, i would not know what to do. maybe i will wait. there is nothing to lose in waiting. there are a lot of cases that comatose patients wakes up after 5-10 years... i say i am rather hopeful

for me, i would be willing to wait... i won't want to be the one to give up that easily because of what the doctor said... i believe that since he still has life and even if they say its just the machine.. still i think he still has life in him and there is still hope.

i think the best thing that i could offer my partner is to wait for him. whether he wakes up or would never be in his old self again, i will give all my love and care for him.

aw jenny thats so sweet of you^^ it just shows you really care for someone when are in love^^ you do right thing caring so much and waiting for the person to wake up^^ i would wait also if was a little chance for him to wake up i couldnt shut off the machine^^ anyway thanks for your answer^^ wish it never happens to you^^ have a happy day^^

yes me also^^ but sometimes people take the decision to shut bcs they have to^^ sure is not something easy to do. anyway for me would be hard take a decision like this bcs i would feel is bcs of me person is not alive anymore. but i know that is a nonsense bcs the person wouldnt wake up anymore so why would be alive just lay in a bed? :( wouldnt be our fault at all but sure we always feel bad. but when doctors say maybe person can wake up i wouldnt shut^^

I don´t like people to be kept alive with machines. I tyhink the machine should have a function for a smll period of time but nothing more. If the person cannot breath or make if heart bewat by his own means, then it is cruel to have him live a life we don´´t want for our dog.
