could computer be smarter than us humans?

as a christian, this is a flat wrong in my point of view.
do you believe that artificial inteligence will hyperspace human intelligence? it will make all the humans rather stupid? can you handle knowing that your cellphone is smarter than you are?

no blood as well and can't breathe. that is why if artificial intelligence only have the mind to think on their own, maybe the world is over and so must we...

As crazy as this sounds I think that computers will eventually become a lot smarter than the human species! Technology is improving all the time and new discoveries are taking place in relation to IT. I personally love technology and would love to have a computer of my own that was a lot smarter than me. Technology can be very useful if used in an appropriate way.
I'm just anxious to see how technology changes over the coming years. Andrew

Yes, I think that a computer can be taught enthusiasm. As I mentioned, we don't know where technology is heading but it's becoming more and more advanced over the years. I think that it's better to have enthusiasm though rather than lack of enthusiasm! Andrew

hikumar I really do not think so as it takes a very smart
person to program a computer . also most computers that
I have seen have to be used by a person as they cannot
program themselves. So humans first t ell the computer
what to do, and when to do ti. we are still in complete
control of our electronic goodies.

how are you there? here i am back to mylotting again and i am so happy to hear you you know. was out for a while as it is our eid holidays here. yes we humans are still number 1. our electronic goodies are only another tool that will add incrementally to our capabilities.

you it is true but this is something impossible to mad. if computer are provided with artifical thinking power than they are more intelligent than us. but else they are just like dumb machines.

In my opinion artificial intelligence can never exceed the real intelligence, we must not depend upon machines always, use the stuff that is covered by our skull rather..

Hi, a good question I must say. As far as my opinion is concerned I believe artificial intelligence can never overpower human intelligence. As artificial intelligent is not auto generated it needs some stimulator to react. As example a calculator can never answer you until and unless you put some data or command, same with computer. You have to understand that this artificial intelligence is produced by human brain. It can never express or feel emotion what we can feel and express. One thing for sure computers can give you faster result with pin point accuracy.

certainly there are things computers do better than our minds, like sorting through large amounts of data. nor are we good at remembering details, most of us have no gift for precision and exactness. if we start counting to a million, long before we get there, our minds are haring off after something more interesting. we are not all that good at calculating either. that is why when we have large amounts of information to store and manipulate, we entrust it to computers. but that only works if somebody first feeds the data in and tells the computers how to sort it.

Man made things are not better then from humans because humans can handle any difficulties but sometimes man made things get failure.

do you use calculator when counting? or just your head?
as for me, i use my head first then double check using a calculator. you are correct i often get mistakes but given enough time to compute using my head eventually i will get it correctly if the case isn't a rush one.
