In the Philippines, as soon as September come most radio stations are now playing Christmas songs. Filipinos start to get busy checking the Christmas decors if its all good, test the Christmas lights if they are still working and blinks. And list down the things they still need to buy for their decorations. After collecting the decoration they started to decorate it from their houses, at 6pm Christmas lights are on. The exciting part is after halloween, Filipino children go out at night to visit houses and sing Christmas carols. That the time that Christmas is near. Listing and buying gifts to give on Christmas day. Christmas shopping makes the shopping mall and the road busy. Traffic from different locations and roads. And as soon as you smell the famous puto bumbong and bibingka at night that's how you feel Christmas coming to town. The traditional 9 mornings as novena. and best of all Christmas eve, lot of different filipino foods, delicacies.. yum yum.. How about you how long do you Celebrate Christmas in your country?

USually holiday is 1 day or 2 day.Other longer holidays the person need to apply annual leave. like any celebration there will be many big mega sales for people to buy stuffs and such with bargains.some are bad bargains disguise as good bargains and such. Some santa claus will go out give sweets to people. Since it is non christian country sometime christmas is known as Xmas here to remove the christ thingie.

No need to apply annual leave, hearing the Christmas song from September until New Years day, and decorations from houses is only signs that everyone is excited for the coming Christmas day. Which became a tradition here in Philippines, which is nice because you will feel the love, sharing, and the importance of the birth of Jesus. For filipinos who are non-christian, they just take the christmas holiday as an ordinary day.

We're from the same country. I have noticed that too. As early as now, malls display Christmas decorations. Normally, when Halloween comes, they change the decoration accordingly and just put it back once it's done.

Christmas is celebrated in a very grand way but its only for the month of December. Not from september, the mood starts from november and we can see all the people with a smile and always ready to help when asked for. The christams tress usually go up by the first week of december, and everyone is in a shopping mood. The people who stay away from home returnes to be with their family during christmas and i am one of those who stay far away from my family. I really want to go home after reading this post...soobb

Hi, In my country, I can say nothing special on Christmas Day. Shopping centre will have some christmas decoration, just a simple decoration and some restaurants will have specia menu for Christmas Day. As my family is not christian,we don't celebrate Christmas Day. No christmas tree and no exchange gift is done for this christmas day, just another holiday to go. But when I was in Singapore, one month before Christmas Day, the Orchard road is full of christmas decoration and year end sales was going on for that whole month. Every year the christmas decoration will have different theme, since I move back to my husband hometown's , I don't have the chance to look at the christmas decoration in Singapore. I have missed out twice and hope I will have a chance one day to see the christmas decoration in Singapore again.

As soon as Halloween is over the retail shops put out all the christmas decorations and have all the promotional sales running. Normally the people begin to set their minds the week of thanksgiving. Me I am normally thinking in the Christmas direction the day after Christmas. This has been a really hard year and I will not be in the mind set of Christmas even during the actual holiday. It saddens me but life has been pretty tough this year. I have been praying and asking for strength.
