I had the craft sale last weekend. It was not a big as normal as many of the crafters were missing but the lady next to me and I did quite well. I did sell a few of the purses. The ones that bought them just loved them....and I got feedback from one lady who said she used it to go to work already and everyone just loved it! I might make some now for our holiday craft show in November. Just thought I'd let you know....can't wait to make somemore. Now....have you found a project lately that you are really excited about?

Hiya Jill,
So glad things went very well for you. Those that have bought those Purses will show them to others and the others will talk to others and so on. Before you know it you will have so many to make you might not have enough Days in the Week to be able to keep up here´s to that.
Does take courage to make things and sell them especially when everything comes already made and packaged up.
Will have a look when if you put a photo up. Congrats on your sales keep them coming.

Hiya Jill,
You´re welcome and how has your purse sales event gone or do you have still more to do hope so.

Hey Jill, I knew these were going to be a great hit. I may consider buying one if you make one I like, are you going to sell online as well? And though I did see a picture, I couldn't tell how big these bags are, but think they would make cute gifts too..:)

ooh, glad it went so positively for you. It's too bad so many crafters were missing.
I have been making puppets lately (out of felt) and it's been so much fun! I'm thinking about trying to sell them but I don't know if I have time to enter a craft fair. I might have missed the deadline.

That's great. Hope you sell tons more at your holiday craft show in November. I thought they were a very clever idea. I am still working on the firetruck banks. Finished the firetruck but have lots to do filling in the background, attaching it to the back to wrap around the coffee can and then slitting the lid in the coffee can. They take forever to finish but I enjoy it. Haven't tried to sell anything at all lately. Am thinking about listing them on Craigslist or one of the other sites locally.

Glad you did well at the craft show. I have seen the placemat purses at Craftshows in the past and they are definitely cute. Good luck with the show in November.

I don't do many craft projects cause I'm not that good at it. I can do scrapbooking though and I like what I create with that but I haven't been able to do any layouts in a while cause my son always tries to get in my stuff. My mom is a very crafty person and I love to see the new things she creates. She makes wreaths and stuff for me to use at my house for different seasons. I always love the new things she makes. I've never seen a placemat purse before. That sounds pretty neat.

Good for you jill! Those are just soooo cute, really. It's good to know that the ladies liked them all, and are using them already.
I saw on a website that they were making cosmetic bags too out of placemats. Maybe you could make some of these to go inside the purses? I think that might be cute, especially if you matched them with the same material.
Well, I did my mini candle as you know, so that's one thing I'm concentrating on. From there my mind is going a mile a minute with other ideas. Of course I'll never get them all done but who knows, right? I'd like to make some more minature stuff for dollhouses, especially with the holiday coming. I was thinking of some minature victorian christmas ornies but I can't even imagine how I would do them, lol! All these idea's and no where to go.

Congratulations on the successful show! Isn't it a great feeling when you find a new creation is commercially accepted by the public?
I wish the shows I've done recently weren't so big. It seems that there are many more vendors this year, than in the past. Perhaps the economy has people searching for ways to make additional income and the competition in certain mediums, like jewelry, soap, etc, is quite fierce. (thankfully, my 2 remaining shows are juried, and limit the amount of jewelry vendors )
Best wishes for your November show...hopefully, word of mouth about your Placemat purses will result in several additional sales!
