Has your life seemed like it was never-endingly terrible and then suddenly something happened and it changed for the better?
I think now, more than ever, people need to hear stories about life-changing events for the better. I've had lots of life changing events where things were bad and then they got better. I tell people about them quite often, but I think more people need to read more stories from more people and not just me. So share your "it was darkest before the dawn" story. Your turn!

Ah, my friend. This discussion is to give hope to people whose lives are going the other way to hear stories of encouragement. So if you're discouraged, read everyone elses.

My life had this happen off and on. Heartache and then becoming something liveable again. This Spring my daughter started going through a bizarre manic phase. The worst she has had in her 38 years. It lasted from April until August when usually they only lasted two or three weeks. For me and my granddaughter and grandson it was a horrible time. We had all lived together. Now my daughter had written her daughter a note stating she was moving the beginning of the next month due to disagreements and bad feelings between them. My granddaughter was several months pregnant. She and I scrambled to find a place to live because we couldn't afford to stay where we had all previously lived together. Anyway, we did find a place and my daughter went to live with her boyfriend. It was horrible to be estranged from my daughter when we had been very close and had lived together for many years. My granddaughter went on to meet and married a very nice young man. She had her baby and lives very happily now. THis would never have happened if the manic phase had not started with my daughter. My daughter was able to move back in the old apartment after three and a half months away. She and I began a dialogue again. She was having bad panic attacks and nearly bagging me to move back in with her. After much thought and sessions with my counselor I decided to move back but with he stipulation that my daughter and her counselor and myself would work up a contract incase she should ever go into a manic phase again. So she might be able to see the harm she did me and her son.
This has been a wake up call for her, a horrible time without meds for her son, a wonderful period for my granddaughter and a wake up call for me as far as needed to be needed and setting up boundaries. Yes, it was darkest before the dawn. It was horrible to have my daughter saying horrible things and being so irresponsible.

Terrific!
I wish they had a celebration emote with a horn blowing. Great example. Thank you for sharing it and for giving hope to others. That's what this post is all about.

I've always compared life to an elevator, sometimes it goes up and sometimes it goes down. However we can make the most of whatever situation we're in. We have to look at life realistically for what it is and what can happen.
