I have decided to start writing book reviews. I figured I've been reading so much lately that I might as well start writing them. I won't say where I am writing them as that doesn't much matter. What does is the first few I've written aren't that good. It's just one big paragraph and I need to work on it a lot. Luckily I did find an article that gives tips on how to give a good book review so I hope it will help me improve on my reviews. However, I wanted to ask if anyone had any tips on what makes a good book review?

Book reviews are about the books you read but they shouldn't have too much of the plot. When writing one, you can focus your attention to other details and expound on why that detail is great or horrible. I had to write about a book with a multiple narrative and I had to harness those to factor into explaining why said book is important. So to carry on with my writing, I had to focus on one element in what the people were saying.

I appreciate your advice. I really hope I can get good at writing book reviews as it would help my husband and I and others around us as well. I know I've been putting too much of the plot in my reviews, so I've got to go back and edit the reviews but will probably wait a little while before I do so.

Do you know how to get paid for writing book reviews? I would be willing to do this.

Think of it from the stanpoint of reading one. What things do you like to know and expect to see in a book review? Maybe make a list of those things and then make sure your review has those things in it. Like well developed characters, twist ending, page turner, or complex storyline. Things that got you interested probably get other readers interested as well. Good luck to you!
