I am 37 and still in school trying to get my bachelors! I plan to get my masters right after I finish, so I assume I will be in my forties at that time (oh my gosh, I'm getting so old). I think it's a great idea to go to school any time. I think you could be in your 90's and go to school if it makes you happy. I think education is all about choice. Even if it doesn't help your career, you can help yourself intrinsically. It is nice to be knowledgeable.

I always recommend going back to school. If you are happy in the position you are in though there is not a lot of point to it. However, a masters often can make the difference if two people are up for the same promotion the degree may move the one ahead of the other. I enjoy school though and think education is important. It makes me feel good about myself. I only wish I would have started sooner since I am still finishing my bachelors degree.

If I already had a good job and a good career and I like what I did and getting the extra degree would possibly mean no real job improvement for me then I probably would not spend the time and the money. If however, I didn't like my job and wanted to go in to something else, or I thought it might help me to get promoted then I would.

Depends. Is there room for advancement in the company? If so, would having a Master's degree HELP you get the position? Is the schooling going to be unreasonably expensive? Is it going to interfere with your current job?
I'm all for going back to school but it has to be realistic, and there's no point in going back if it won't help your career any.

Hi! It would really depend on your priorities in life and your needs. If learning is all that you want, a masters degree would be a good thing plus the added benefit of having to meet new people and interact in a lively discussion. If promotion is important for you, the a graduate and a postgraduate degree would make you competitive.
I have a masters degree but got as far as thesis writing. I don't think I will finish my degree...lost the interest particularly when you can also learn through the net searches and get interaction here....like in mylot. Lol.
Have a nice day.

Hard to say. I think I would go for it. Nothing wrong with furthering your education for any reason. The fact that it may or may not help your career is a tough one because school certainly isn't cheap anymore and it would be nice to know that you are going to get something back out of it. On the other hand though, knowledge is power and you're gaining that. Always a good thing to keep the mind active. Not to mention school can actually be fun for a lot of people. I'd say as long as I enjoyed the subject matter I'd probably go for it!
