When you say repair, what do you mean exactly? Computer repairs can be divided into two portions: Hardware and software. Which would you like to know more of?

maybe im not good enough for this topic, but based on my experience, hardware need special port/socket to attach so it can work, if u can attach it correctly, hardware can't run so systems can't read it, so make sure it is installed correctly. some hardware need special requirement to attach on mainboard... just read the manual books of your mainboard, there u can see what specification of hardware can installed to your mainboard...

Sorry for the late reply, I was at work. Generally, it's quite easy to setup your own computer. As it'll be your first, you may want to get a friend's help to walk you through the first few steps (like I did when building my own comp years ago). The good news is that for most part, the components are pretty fool-proof. Each slot can only go in one way, so there's no worries about that. The only thing you need to do is when buying the parts, make sure you're buying parts that are compatible with each other. Here is where you'll need to do some research. Once you have the parts, you can assemble your computer. Generally you'd need a casing with a good power supply (or you can buy your own, which is what I would recommend). Check out the components you intend to have before you get the casing, especially for graphic cards and motherboards. You'll want to buy a casing that is large enough to house your computer parts and ensure good airflow. Let me know if you need more information!

Try reading this book: Upgrading and Repairing PCs, written by Scott Mueller. I've bought that once and it teached me all that is needed to know when you are intending to fix commom problems presented by your machine. It presents detailed information on common components of your computer, as well as tips on how to proceed when something does not works how they where expected to. Hope this helps you.

I noticed that in order to be expert in computer (not from the software side), we really really need the hands on experience. We must need somebody to guide us. If not we will be lost...

Hello, One thing that you must understand well is that you can't repair the chips no matter how you try. That is you can't repair the motherboard. This sort of repairing needs advanced set up. When a device like SMPS, Motherboard or a CD/DVD ROM malfunctions, you have to replace it with a new one. Now in order to be a good repairer of computers you have to learn a about a few basic things and their functionalities. Inside the cabinet/box there are a few basic stuffs - motherboard, HDD, RAM, SMPS, CD/DVD ROM and in some computers, a Floppy Drive. Troubleshooting calls for an awareness of all these components and how they work. The best way to do experiments, like pulling out a device and then plugging in another etc. Buy a book on computer hardware. You don't need to know the engineering in details, so don't waste your time in studying it. Read a basic book on assembling and then start doing it yourself. Do experiments, more and more. Be a good observer. Try to identify different changes that take place in your system. Explore your operating system. Read materials even if you may not understand them at the beginning. Thanks. God bless you.

Sometimes I can fix my computers problems. Because I have some knowledge about hardware. So I can repairs it. But if there is any critical problem in my computer then I prefer to go to hardware engineer. But I have faced very less problem related to hardware. Mostly time I have faced software related problem. So I think I can fix software related problems.

Assembling the components sure something that is fun to do. I watch the computer technicians in the computer shops really enjoying what they are doing and it gets my attention. Seeing them joining the wires to the correct sockets really cool.

Repair a computer? You have to take experience, and sort out the symptoms. Pretty much like a doctor. There is not special training or anything like that. Good luck! You can pick a book or something to learn about fixing a computer 101. Then test it out when you encounter similar problem described in the book.
