Why is China still receiving billions of dollars of foreign aid every year?

A few decades ago, China did need help and foreign aid from many worldwide organizations was pouring into the country. Now, however, China has more billionaires and millionaires than any country other than the US. The Chinese economy is still growing, despite the recession many other countries are going through. China has the world's largest standing army. China has a space program and is technologically advanced. China is sending foreign aid to other countries. So, why is billions of dollars in foreign aid still flowing into China? Yes, China does still have problems; but, so do the US, England, France, Italy, Spain, etc., etc.. And, there are so many other countries out there that are suffering from much worse conditions than China in Africa, Asia, South America, etc.. The same money that is going to China, could be split up among these poorer countries and really make major differences in people lives. I don't know about you; but, I think that now that China is a world power, it is time for them to start taking care of their own people and problems with their own money.

Once we start paying something to someone, it seems like we do not know how stop. I agree, there are many people in the world that need help. I think that a country that helps other countries is truly a world power.

China is definately a world power. It is time to tell all of our governments that it is time to stop sending aid to China. A lot of this money is being sent to them through "world organizations" and the US is not the only country sending them money - UK, Canada, Australia, Russia, France, Greece, etc. are all donating funds. Considering how many other countries really need the money, the money going to China needs to be reallocated to other countries. We also need to get charitable organizations to remove China from their lists.

yeah, i also read on the news about china receiving billions of aid. i was dumbfounded and surprised. how could the second largest economy be receiving aid when it has billions of cash reserves at its disposal? it is even investing on the government bonds of other countries and sponsor huge infrastructure projects in other countries. i do not understand why developed countries should give aid to china.

It all started when they really did need the aid; but, they no longer need it now. The world needs a system to check on the countries that do receive aid to make sure it is getting to the people who need the help; and then, periodically review the continued need and adjust the level of aid needed.
