Why do people sign up to sites and then leave before even trying them?

October 1, 2010 3:46pm CST
I don't understand why people bother going to the effort of signing up to a site and then don't even bother trying to earn from it. I have quite a few referrals on some of my sites that signed up but never did anything. this seems like a wasted opportunity to me, because these sites are all really good for earning. I would understand if they tried it and then left because they didn't like it, but these people aren't even having a trial. Birdie

many people like to earn money but they like it without a single sweat nor they think this is just a cent.

i think that in the majority of cases people think that gain some money online is easy and really fast so they want it and signup but after they discover that it is not so easy they can think ' i can't dedicate too much time for cents' and so they leave or just quit their activity..

Patients. I don't think people give certain sites enough chance, I recall when I first originally joined this site I managed to get five active referrals who only posted about 80 times between them. They wasn't even on the site for more than a few days but I received comments like "it's too slow here", "the design is ugly" and "what' the point in earning a penny?". These was people who wanted to find an alternative to myspace and it's community that always seems to draw in people who only argue and show an ego. More time and I honestly believe they would of like the site, even if they only made peanut it's still fun here. It's all about the lack of attention people are willing to give though.

I have been guilty of this myself, and it's mainly because I have signed up with too many sites and I lose track of them. I did not realize how bad it was till I tried to sign up with a few of the sites and could not because I was already a member . I am sure there must be other reasons as well.

Most of my referrals on Mylot are like that. I never understood either. At least try it and if you don't like it, then stop. I wish I had some great insight to this, but alas, I do not.

There must be a lot of reasons out there but I can think of two reasons right now: - some people don't have time, - some people don't believe something that's too good to be true

I am working in the paid4 scene as well and I have observed the same phenomenon: about 20% of my referrals don't do anything. They enter the paidmail platform, see the skin and decide not to be attracted. Another 70% stay less than 2 months and only the remaining ca. 10% I can consider as active for more than 6 months. I have understood that most of people are on the search for easy and big money, kind of the bingo in lottery. And of course in the paid4 scene they can't find this.

Many people expect to make money overnight after signing up for sites that would apply them to make fast money. Most sites do not promise people to make money overnight, but that does not work always. It takes time and patience to get a few referrals on any site. Some people just don't have the patience for those sites, or the sites may charge a fee that would scare away people just because they do not have that kind of money.

I have found that there are alot of people that do that,as some of the people that join sites think that they are going to earn loads of money over night, lol. There are people aswell out there that think that money will come to them and that they do not have todo anything to earn it.If you are on a site then you must at least enjoy what you are doing. Also if they are skint and they want money, then they should work to earn it.

I understand your frustration. I have about 30 sites and I have been telling people that if they sign up under me, they will get paid. They sign up but that is all. I don't know if they don't understand how to do them or what but it makes me mad too because I take my time to send the sites and they don't even do them.

Sorry to say that I was in that way too. These are the few experiences I encountered before: 1) Only after signing up, then only you can read the terms and conditions. For instance, a) The high cashing threshold. b) The first attempts to signing up was failed. It was mostly due to the unacceptable passwords. The second signing up was not accepted because the due to the first sign up, I couldn't use the same email address, my paypal or alertpay account and my user name. So, I had to give up this site. c) For certain countries, only upgrade member can cash out. and so on. I hope you should understand parts the problems.

I think just like most people trying to earn money online, those who sign up and then do not continue with the site are just upset that they were not making the amount of money that they want. Many people have searched for websites that are going to help them make money quickly. Let's be honest, who wants to wait months and months to make money, especially when you need money fast. Bill collectors are not going to wait a few months while someone "trys" to make money online. You'll lose your house, have your phone or electricity cut off, and end up homeless. So of course people do not continue with a site that can't help them fast enough. With today's economy, time is not on our side.

If I join a site, surely I will spend time to at least try if the site will pay me, I won't just stop after trying it for a couple of days. I'll try to reach the pay out and then request for it, that's when I will find out whether the site is just scam or not. It happened to me in Incrasebux, I thought the site is not paying, but when I checked it, the admin admitted there's just some problem and they're working on it, true to their word, I was paid after few more days. :)

Sometimes it is that they sign up as a favor, or because they really want to help, then they get overwhelmed. I have done that. I am trying to slow down on sign ups. I have thought things sounded interesting, but then not gotten them worked into my schedule. It is just so much easier to stick to the things I know about, instead of learning a new site no matter how good it sounds.

I agree with you Natasha. It has been one of the most frustrating things for me as well. It's crazy. I've signed up as a referral under people before, and I have been a member of some of those sights for years. I never seem to get any referrals to stick, but those same people will complain that they have no money.

Well. I've done that, actually. I've signed up because it sounded good but then when I looked around I saw that it wasn't worth the effort. Or, sometimes, I forget the link or my user/pass and just give up on it. Lots of times I just forget about the site completely and don't even remember I signed up for it.

Don't blame them NatashaBird. There are people who just signup because they were curious about it but didn't even research on that first. Then after signing up they read somewhere that oh, this is not a good way to earn blah..blah.. so they just leave the site thinking.. why should I waste my time on that one I've read it's not good blah..blah... But people should make it a habit that thye should research first before trying out anything online... is a "be safe" procedure.. but it's life, people are different each and every way.
