What music do you use when you work out?

Most of my music that I work out with is getting old. I sometimes use the radio, but they often go through a period of time when they play a lot of stuff that isn't very inspiring for exercising.
I need music to do crunches by, do stretches by, dance to, weight life with. Indoor walking, whatever. Even t'ai, chi, I could do music by.

I can't actually workout anymore because of my back. I make it a point to walk the steps in the house as often as possible. I go up and down the steps to do laundry. The computer room is 17 steps from the laundry area. I can walk about a mile but then I pay for it the following day when morning rolls around. If I was going to workout I would have the radio on the Oldies music. Love those songs from the 60's.

Some of the 60s stuff is good. I like 50s the best for dancing if I had to pick a decade. Good that you walk. If you don't walk a mile and then you do walk a mile, that's understandable. Usually, people have to build up to distance. Like 1/4 mile for a week and then a little more the next week, etc.
Walking is supposed to be excellent exercise. Can you dance at all? Just to vary your workout?

I usually use party or disco. Some like Footloose or Celebration. Old I know but things I enjoy listening to. Anything with a good beat that gets me up and moving. I like any music with a good beat but I don't care for ones that are repetitive. These are really boring to me.

Footloose, yeah!
I like stuff that when it's played, you have to get up and move, too. I'll have to try more partyh cds, I forgot about those, I can rotate them in with the rest of what I have.

I am a classic rock fan. Oldies like Footloose and another one comes to mind but I can't think of the name. A gal does a dance routine and it is quite a tune.

You probably wouldn't like my music, but I have such a variety, I never get sick of it. Are you looking for certain bands or songs? You said to dance to, that depends, dancing can be very slow or very fast. I do both, in fact one choreography I made up starts out slow, speeds up and then slows down again...It runs about 7 minutes long.

The last thing you wrote sounds good. I'd like about 7 mins. of slow to fast to slow again. That's actually the way people should work out. Starting out too fast can be dangerous, stopping suddenly can be dangerous. So what's your line up for that?

Well, I could send you the choreography, but don't know how I'd send the music. I guess I could make a video of it and send it to you. I can find all kinds of dancing pictures to put in it..:) But I wonder, because some things you probably can get real easy, like the "hora" a dance Jews usually do at most celebrations, but then there are steps that I would have to try to explain..If you want to give it a shot, let me know and I'll try to set you up. Or I can just send the music, the beat itself will let you know when to speed up and slow down...

I did hora in college. I think it was that. We did folk dances from around the world. That was a great class.
I don't want choreography (nothing personal, but I like to move the way I feel like moving. I had dance lessons for umpteen years and I still like to find my own way), just the music please. Like the names of the selections and I'll take it from there. Thanks and take care.

I am a fitness freak. Whenever I workout with my trainer, I will not use any music. As we discuss a lot of thing apart from exercise routine.
If I workout alone, then I listen to Rock or heavy metal music. It really pump-up my workout.

Some rock, like 1950s and some of the top stuff in any year is good. Heavy metal, not my thing for exercise. But each to their own.
I need a rock tape. Thanks and take care.
