Okay, I was at work one day(in a resturant)and my co-workers were in the back chatting.(Mind you, that is a no-no!)I went and started chatting to! lol. Someone said that it was contagious. My Husband drinks out the jug, even though I didn't approve. Now I catch myself doing it!

he he, this is a funny topic.. and a good one too.. makes me think what i have done that i do not usually do before that i have just seen from a friend, or my bf.. perhaps. :D But as far as i am trying to think at this moment.,. i only thought of one... my brother transfers his soda to this supposedly disposable gatorade bottles... and so i told him to not re use this because its supposed to be disposable.. and then i found it being convenient.. i bought gatorade and used the bottles myself for my water! ha ha yeah.. quite a lot of things are contagious.

Well, if others chat and do not get reprimanded, even if you don't think about it at the time, it has reinforced to you that you could do the same. So, you are more likely to chat. Also, if you know your husband drinks out of the jug, you know he will not get annoyed if you do, so: you do!

Yep, social influence. :) You know, at first reading, when I saw the jug drinking and the rest, I thought you were speaking of getting some infection through drinking from the jug... now's that dangerous for contagious illnesses. ;)

I don't know if "contagious" is the right word! lol! We are social creatures and are always adapting to what things are going on around us. Don't let your standard down.. it would be sad to lose your job just because you "caught" a bad habit! lol!

We should not adapt to things that are wrong though!

It really depends on the subject. If it's not really familiar to me then i can stay as quiet as i can. If it's very familiar to me then expect me to be talking every second you pause and think. :)

Well, we are social creatures and we do tend to socialize and I bet it was easier for you to chat at the time because other people were doing it, so it seemed okay to do it.

Maybe you are just easily influenced. I don't think it is contagious since there are people who won't do it if they choose not too.
