Do you like to visit popular destinations like Paris, Rome and New York? Do you enjoy going to less well known places like small villages and provincial towns? Do you prefer beaches, mountains or countryside? Which popular destinations have you been to?

Hi maxi,I like to visit all the places you mentioned. But my preference is beaches, mountains and countryside. Because in these places I would get the touch
of nature. There I can take fresh breath which I will not get from a crowdy city like Paris,Rome or New York. Thanks my crazy travel lover.

Hi my friend Bhanusb. I think that beaches, mountains and countryside are special places with that spirit of nature. It is lovely to have fresh air and beautiful views. I visited Cape Town and it has beaches, mountain and I had a taste of the countryside near to the Garden Route. Yes, I still very much love traveling.

I like to visit the lesser known places where people don't crowd around as much. I live in San Diego, which is actually a popular tourist destination. It's great that we have a lot of fun things to do, but it gets too crowded. When you visit small towns, you get an idea of the kinds of people who really live there. I like visiting the desert towns.

I stopped over in California and visited San Diego on my way down to Australia. I was there in the winter so it wasn't all that busy with tourists. I imagine in summer time many foreign and American tourists go there. It sounds interesting to visit a desert town. It is lovely to get to meet the local people in a small town. I did that in Bulgaria and easily found a private room.

I've been to Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Las Vegas. I've also been to San Francisco several times, but then again I basically lived next door to it when I was growing up, so I was bound to go there from time to time. LOL
Oh, and I don't have a preference when it comes to beaches, mountains, and countryside. I like them all.

Hello Maxi. Nice to see you. How are you ? I have been to Paris, Rome and New York. Also to London, Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo. Very impressive cities indeed. I do very much like visiting to less known destinations. Here is one less know tourist destinations which I had the chance to visit once some years ago. That's a place called "Inlay Lake" in Myanmar, Southeast Asia. It is a large lake, up on the mountains in the eastern region of the country. Very scenic beautiful place, people living in villages in the lake. The villages have been there for centuries, I was told. There is the floating market serving the lake community. An amazing place, unique culture ! So interesting to see people moving around by boats, and what makes it more interesting is that they row with their legs, not with their hands.

I enjoy both the big, touristy places and the less known ones. I do try to avoid the worse tourist season though, if it's possible. I suppose that in some places, like Rome, there's always tourist season. That tend to annoy me a bit, as I'm not too fond of queuing. My friend and I dropped the Sixtinth chapel when we saw the queue, it went on for ages, around the corner so we didn't even see the end of it :-)
I've been to some of the major destinations in Europe, but there's still some to go. I've haven't been to many places in Eastern Europe yet, Prague and Budapest (which I didn't really like, too noisy)

Hi maxima,
Long time back when I was working in one of the African countries, I used to get a paid leave one month every 18 months with a return ticket to my home town in India. During that time I used to normally stop over in Europe. During my first such visit way back in 1980 I had a ten day tour of Europe covering London, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. To be very frank I did not find any difference in all these places. It was concrete jungle all over. Even today I regret not to have visited country side of Europe which is really beautiful. I could have taken a ten days Euro rail pass and moved freely all over Europe.

I am pleased that you used to get one month paid leave every eighteen months. It was lovely to stop over in Europe. You went to some very popular cities and they can look similar sometimes with that concrete jungle look. If you take a 10 day Euro Rail Pass you could visit Cesky Kromlov and some places in the beautiful countryside.

Hi maximax8,
Paris, Rome, New york are impressed with all of us. But you know that I am living at Asia. My annual income is about 5,000 USD and I must spend on essential things of the life. How I can visit those places although I like them. I often travel some places in my country. I hope that I have enough condition I will visit to Europe; especially, English speaking nations to practice my English.
