People that hate kittens???

So my daughter took in a stray cat, and she had kittens. Before the 8 weeks was even over, her dad made her get rid of them. Even though the were never outside of one room, and couldn't have possibly been bothering him. They didn't meow that much or anything!
He calls them filthy vermin. I just don't understand how a person could be so heartless as to take his own daughter's kittens away, and not care as she's sitting there in tears. The whole thing just made me sick.
What kind of a person hates kittens???

I like cats, i have 2, Lennon and Paul (Beatles cats rulez!) Lennon is 1 and some months old and Paul 5 months. I had a cat called Ringo, he dont lived here, but he comed here. One day, he gone and never backed. It was like 2 months ago, but our neighbors see him around there, he keeps trying to come here, but a certain little corner createde there isn't helping. The neighbor put it because a robber entered his house by the same way Ringo entered ours. The robber stealed their laptop, their iPod, the phones, and even the Anti-Cockroaches productS!

Hmmm..the thief must've had cockroaches. I think Beatles names for cats is cool. Are they all male cats? do you have problems with them constantly trying to mark their territory?

No, Zion, here in "The Matrix" we don't have problems with the territory thing, they don't have this things, because they call some friends to visit them. Here is like a bar, often we put stickers on the windows that they come ( my parents room door ) saying: "Bem-vindo ao bar do Lennon" (Welcome to Lennon's bar in portuguese) and "Bem-vindo ao bar do Paul" (Welcome to Paul's bar in portuguese, since we are Brazilians.), so we don't have the territory thing.
PS: The cats that come here at Lennon's or Paul's like listening Mississipi Queen from Mountain, and your cat(s), what music does it(or they) like?

For me, I think, a dad must learn to like the cats by getting to know the cats better. Like me. At first, I hate dogs. I like cats better than dogs, but when my sister brought a puppy and the puppy grew up, I finally like the dogs because of the personality and character that I have seen them and I have also seen them in our dog 'Kiss'-- that made me realized that I judge them without knowing the benefits that the dog would bring to us. If a dad learn what benefits would bring the cat to the house, maybe he would appreciate and like them too.

Hello to you! Me honestly hates cats as for now. It is because in our place out at our house, The cats steals food and my dog can't catch that cat because cats are wise and quick right? So if my dog hate cats, i also hate cats too. that is why i'm trying to get rid of the cats in our house. they are like bandits that steals food. or even fish. But, I feed the cats, outside at our house trying to train the cats not to get inside and wait outside our house for food. Goodluck!

In that case I would dislike them too. These were very well behaved cats though. They didnt bother him in any way. He never even had to see them.

But in that case the one you said, i would hate the child's dad. hehe! If you are a dad, you should make you daughter feel happy. And If for example a dad dont like the kitten, he should let his daughter understand and put it outside in the house.

Cats were lovely..Its amazing that they know how to clean themselves. I do love to see them. But personally I dont want to own them.. I dunno, I just dont like them rubbing their body on my legs.

HAHA that is just their way of saying hello and petting us back since we pet them. It does get annoying when they do it... but he never even had to see them.

Well, if her dad really hate kitten that way , he must explain it to the kid in a therapeutic way, the child may follow the father's attitude, which is not that good,just let child understand the consequences having a kitten inside the house.=)
My grandfather hates kittens too, he said that he skinned the kittens off and buried them alive, it was too harsh of him to say that, but i think we are big enough to understand him that he is old and not interested in animals as pets.

Wow. I wouldn't want to meet him. My daughter well never follow is attitude about them. She has to much of a loving heart for that.

i fell sory to read your story.
i know many people who afraid with cat even its just a litle kitten. i do not understand why can they be so afraid with that cute litle creature, in your case it worse than coz it can make his dougther hate animal. and its a pity cat

One thing I never have to worry about is my daughter hating cats. She loves them dearly, and probably always will.

I don't know how anyone can hate a kitten! they are such adorable animals. they are so cute and cuddly. How could anyone resist them? Whenever i see a kitten, i just want to take it in my arms and love it.

Hi,
I don't think dad hates cats and kittens.He probably doesn't
want to get committed in this matter because as the head of the family
he must carry the responsibilities of the pets well being.
Personally,I think cats are adorable and I have taken in 2 stray kittens and now after 2 years they have grown to become 2 lovely adult felines.

I think it's funny how everyone keeps saying that. He DOES hate kittens. He says so. He says they are filthy vermin and won't touch them.

What? You only know one person who hates kittens? It's something very common. I dislike cats too, and would never want to have one (or more) at home. Also, you can't expect those kittens to be inside the same room forever, so of course they will end up bothering him.
To have an animal at home it's important to think of everyone's opinion, as everyone is sharing the same roof.

there is one time i fed a stray kitten in my college, the kitten seems know me and always come to my door waiting for me to school. it likes rubbing and licking my leg while i'm brushing my teeth in the wash room even i ask it to stop. it is really a good day when the kitten is with me to school. i don't think they are filthy vermin, if we take a good care of them, they can be cute and sweet. it's good to letting your daughter have pet where you can let her learn how to take care of animals or something, not being cruel to the animals.

I think they are cute to see but I could not be a cat owner. Perhaps if the dad allowed your daughter with the giving the kittens a good kind of deal and had he explained he could not care for them, perhaps your little one would not have so sad.
She is not only feeling the loss of the kitties, but she also felt like she had no say for them as well.

dont know why they hated it too..
though i am not a pet lover, cats are cute in general and nice. so why hate it?
besides, why you will hurt something that you don't love? if you really can't help it just ignore but don't do something bad.
hurting animals, is a very negative impulse and a very bad sign that you are getting close of hurting people.
i bet you big. so to those who hurt animals, stop it!

I agree. I think anyone that hurts or disrespects an animal is a coward.
