What if, for some odd reason, your ladle fell into poop?

Will you still use it after cleaning it and sterilizing it? I readily answered my son, "Of course not!" "Why?" he asked. I replied because at the back of my mind poop is dirty and the whole scenario will stay in my subconscious rendering me very unwilling to use the ladle again. Of course, everybody does not share this kind of disgusted feeling. You may disagree with me for some reason. And I will ask, will you still use it or not, and why?

Ewww.. no no no. I don't think I can use it even if I believe in keeping things until they are not practical. Maybe I will use it as my cats' poop pick up thing instead.

Okay, I gotta ask, how in the world would your ladle fall into the poop? This is not reasonable to me at all! lol! But I would rinse it off, and put it through the dishwasher and never think twice about it!

well, ms macdolinger, it was actually animal poop on my mind ha ha anyway, rinsing it off will actually clean the ladle. i know that anything subjected to thorough cleaning will make it clean but i just couldnt take it off my mind. amusing how i react to such things but i truly cannot act accordingly thinking about it falling into the poop.

very, very true! it is so admirable that some people can take grossness as nothing. not that i have anything against them. it is actually admirable that they can.

absolutely not. even after sterilizing it a thousand times, the thought of where it just landed makes me wanna go "eeww", lol.

voila! watta remedy. i won't reuse it for food. i can reuse it with other task. maybe scooping a clogged drainage and eventually throw it away after. my goodness, i just can't sterilize my mind of the memory where the ladle fell down.

bingskee, Way to go, ladle from the poop. I think this is really mind over matter but I just felt that if we throw that ladle away then we are just not convinced with the cleaning and sterilization education. Let's look at it from another perspective, you are running in the field and somehow fell on a pile of poop where in the process soiled your pants. Throw away that pair of pants? I know that there's a difference but still in my perspective, I will trust that the cleaning and sterilizing is sufficient for the ladle to be used again. So, don't run away if I am inviting you over for dinner....

If I already had another ladle, I would throw away the one that I had that had fallen into the poop. However, if I didn't have another ladle, I would be willing to use it again, but it would have to be washed, cleaned with bleach, and then sterilized in boiled water before I would consider using it again. The reason that I would go through all of those steps is because I think that it would make sure that it was cleaned.

I'll definitely throw it away! Like you, I will always remember that that ladle fell into poop and might have a psychological effect on me.

I could not re-use even if I sterilized it as my brain functions in a way that I would be repulsed by the mere thought of where it fell on. Many may say that although sterilized and clean my brain could not revert my feelings.
