Hi there, I am a mother of 6 children from 9yrs and under, and head lice has being a pain for me, until I discovered a remedy to rid of head lice! Now i've spent hundreds on head lice shampoos and potions and some were even too chemically damaging to my childrens skulps. I have found that if you get the flea drops for pets, you place a drop on the front of their head, and a drop each side behind the ears and just at the back of the neck, leave it in for 48hrs, and you'll find they practically wash out! you don't have to try it, but if you knew the drama I went through with my childrens hair i was willing to give anything a go, and found that the flea drops for pets was the BEST thing i ever did!

I think the best way is to put some gas and burn the hair, for sure lice will all be gone (just kidding). There are many shampoos that can remove lice maybe you haven't found the right one.

So, I have been a sufferer as an adult from my kids having it and passing it on to me, I think the shampoos do some of the work but what worked for me and this may sound crazy is to try and smother them, people have said with mayonaise but I am a hygeine freak and that sounds gross to me, I did the lice shampoo PLUS a thick conditioner and I had the conditioner on for like 1 hour maybe even 2 some people sleep in the conditioner but again I am a hygeine freak lol, and wrap it in a shopping bag so it's not too messy, it'll definitely help if not work but you definitely need to also use the combs and remove as much as possible, my head itches just thinking about it lol, GOODLUCK!

I remember having this problem as a child and kept getting them again and again. It went through the whole school. One day my dad had enough and he shaved my head bald. That fixed the problem lol.

My girls got this from school and it devastated us, since it spread to the house. To get rid of it out of the hair, I first soak all of their hair in Olive oil, then rap with plastic rap around the head. I leave it this way for an hour at the least. I usually let them sit with it as along as possible. The olive oil smothers the lice. After that I washed their hair. The next step takes along time. I go through the hair bit by bit and pull out any nits, put them in water and flush em. That process can take quite awhile to do. I wash all bedding pillows included through out the house. I also use spray to spray the house. About two weeks after I go through their hair again to make sure it is gone, if not I go through the process again until it is gone. The reason for two weeks is because that is the gestation time for eggs to hatch. Olive oil is the only thing I have found to work. As well as going through the hair. Yes it takes along time, but it is well worth it. Also if you have girls and it is going around in your schools, use hair spray on the hair when they go to school, it helps keep them away. Make sure they keep their coats and hats separate from everyone else's. I actually sent plastic garbage bags with mine to school to put their coats in while they were in class. That was because they didn't have separate lockers. The coats hung on hooks all together in one area. When I heard that head lice was hitting the school I would go ahead and do a Olive oil soak for like 20 minutes then wash hair, to help them not to get them during the out break. Would do this once a week to once a month depending on how bad it was going around the school.

If in your family no one has head lice, then probably your kid got it from her classmate or friend. Tell her not to share comb with them. Also, let her take bath at least twice a day. Perspiration invites head lice.

I have the same problem when I was a kid until I turn into a teen. It is so hard to remove but I've noticed when I had my hair straighten, the lice suddenly vanished. I don't recommend that you use any chemicals in your child's hair but it works for me. I think you can send your children to a salon and have a treatment not harsh chemicals, by doing this regularly, may lessen and may be vanish lice permanently.

I think the best way is to shampoo hair everyday, before shampooing put some oil and let the shampoo stay on hair for several minutes and use white towel. You can see head lice will stick into the towel. Try this everyday.

Any thing that is applied say from shampoo or anything herbal, after the wash, one should sit patiently and comb the child's hair. place a white sheet or towel and you will realise that the lice dont hold themselves when the hair is wet and shampood with the anti lice detergents. So combing the hair when it is wet after the shampoo is applied is the best remedy

I have experience with head lice before when I was little. Being a "kampung boy" playing with allt he dirty stuff, it just normal to get head lice. But how we get rid of it? It simple. We use a very fine comb. There we able to take revenge on the lice by killing it until it belly burst. Comb the hair everyday. Shampoo once everyday will help a lot. I also heard some people do it drastically like spraying the insecticide at their hair but I don't dare to do that I would also not recommend it. To risky to try.
