Is love worth it?

Love is both a privilege and a responsibility. Is it a fair deal? Are the privileges worth the responsibilities? Things to consider: The stress of trust. Risking extremely painful emotions. Worrying for another. Maybe having to love someone who doesn't love you back. Maybe having to love someone who hurts themselves through poor life choices. Maybe loving some one who uses you. Personally, if I could wake up one day and not care about anybody, I might do it. I love my family and it feels wonderful but sometimes it hurts so bad I would cut off my own hand if it would make the pain in my heart go away.

I don't know, that's a tough question. I bet it will feel like flying if we can be so disconnected and not care, but that small moment when we do, it is very special, to me. Maybe it's worth the risk for me, but I wouldn't mind at all if it can be a little easier.
