I can dare that almost all the students have skipped classes in college life.It is a common phenomenon in college.Do you think it is not a good students who often cut classes? And what do you think of this phenomenon? In my opinion, skipping classes is not a good action, but we cannot say that a students who cut classes is a futile person.Everyone have their own idea for the future.Maybe he is not interest in some of their classes.Teachers should not force every student to have their classes and hang out someone's course only because of cutting classes.Does everyone agree with me?

i haven't skipped classes. and i agree with you that teachers should not force their students to attend classes. their role is to advice the students not to skip classes because it's for their own good. it's now up to the student to obey it or not.

I do not know how your finances are for paying for college. I had to pay for mine. I was not going to skip something I was paying for. The classes I took, I either chose or they were required for my degree. It was hard to pass a class without attending it. There are reasons that classes are required.

No, I did not always like all the classes, and sometimes I was very tired. sometimes what I could contribute in class helped others, and the discipline of doing what was right helped me as I worked toward being an adult. If I am bored at work, I cannot just choose not to go. If I do not feel it is useful, I will look for another job before leaving. If I did not feel like getting up with my baby at night, I still needed to do so. Even today, if I do not feel like cleaning and doing chores it does not mean that I can skip them, certain things in life must be done and it is good to learn that sooner, rather than later.

I didn't skip classes before. (I'm a good student HEHE!) Yeah, I heard some of friends who skipped classes said they prefer learning on their own... The teachers in my school don't really care about attendance as long as you reached 75% of attendance...

I never really skipped classes. I know for a fact that I would have gotten in trouble from both the school and then gotten in worse trouble from my parents back when I was trouble. After a while, I really did develop the habit of getting to classes. Plus the fact that I actually care about my grades, unlike many people in school, I tend to catch my classes. I don't like being sick even because there is so much to miss. Still, a lot of people do miss classes and I can see their reasoning. I think that many people develop such an indifference to their own future, that they do not care. Plus a lot of those people, when they do show up, are quite disruptive. So it is much better for the people who actually care about being there for them to skip classes. However your experiences may vary on this front.

I have skipped class and for various reasons. It's a common occurrence, I think, with reasons varying from useless to valid. I had to cut class in 7th grade because I spotted someone who was crying in a corner and she asked me to take her to the guidance counselor which I did. We became best friends ever since.

Well I remember, I have also skipped many times from my class Since my school days. The First Time I skipped From school In 11th class and Youw would be surprised to know the person who instiagted me to do so was our Class moniter. In My College days also i skipped my classs as well. But In My University Golden days and which are Unforgetable.I Used to Skipclasses almost evey day, I remember in My last year In Law,When Some guys Didn't get there roll number due to shortage of lectures, they were Surprised to see me having the roll number without any hindrance, because My roll call was full. Actually you see what i think their Should Not be this attendence System, in our study system,If we Skip this system and just tell students, that there is no attendence system for siting in exams, Then there will be full attendence , for sure. You are right teachers Should Not force students to have their classes, rather they should teach them in an interesting ways, so that they may not run away from Classes rather attend the Classes them selves. I remember there was such a teacher in My university days, he use to teach us Intelectual property a Subject In Law.I never Missed His class beacuse he Use to teach us everything in our local laguage and in such a way that every thing he used to say directly goes to our mind and We would never had to look in books for that subject. He never used to take long hours to give Us his Lecture,He used to just teach Us for 15 to 20 minutes. Rest of the time in Class we use to discuss lightfull things of our University Life.I really enjoyed going to His Class.

Yes I've skipped courses mainly because I was too tired and sleeping during it. I've also skipped lectures, which wasn't good because I eventually failed that course. I've also been responsible and attended classes before and was thus able to help others on their problem sets because I understood more of the material. They just took my notes. I minded a little but not too much. Right now, the two courses I'm taking the professors take attendance (the college requires it) so I cannot choose to skip more than two classes without being penalized. But I don't think I really want to skip courses because these courses are really interesting to me.

Occasionally student skip classes because they just want to, like maybe they got thrill of it. Most of the time though, they do have a reason. Maybe they didn't do homework for that class and wanted avoid lecture about it from their teacher...

Though I feel like cutting class is a very very unintelligent idea, I do have some courses at College which attendance is taken daily and it accounts for part of your grade. So not showing up is just hurting yourself. Also, I have classes which don't require attendance because it is a lot of independent studying. So if you skip class, and you read the chapter and can teach the material to yourself, you're covered. It all depends on the University/Class.

I have skipped classes but only for those times when I feel really really lazy, or if it just popped up in discussions among friends like, we'd watch a movie or something. I think when it comes to cutting classes, there should be some responsibility involved. When cutting classes, you have to make sure that you can follow the lectures and discussions that you missed in class. The key point here is not to abuse the free cuts given to you (we have an allotted number of free cuts); or just not to cut class all the time. I think it also depends on the teaching style. Since some teachers teach by the book, I guess it would be okay to cut that class - you can self study at home and save costs for food and transportation.

I didn’t attend college but I do recall skipping classes in high school in fact I missed an entire term of sport! I hated sport because I was not very good at it and consequently the other kids used to make my life hell so I solved the problem by not showing up! I was caught of course and got into very serious trouble...As far as college goes I cannot imagine cutting classes if I was studying something I was passionate about.

i have skipped but only two or three times only. for a right reason~ i dare to say the same thing too~ i will not blame them for those who love to skip class or play truant as they might have their own reasons. i just hope they will not make others life difficult. there are some who like to skip class then inconvenience others for their problem.borrowing notes, teaching them back (it's fine if the have a right reason to skip class).

Yes, definitely. I only skip lectures though. Not tutorials. Some lecturers are just so boring and there's no point in attending their lectures since slides are uploaded and the lecturer just reads from them. I try to make it for all my classes but if I'm too tired or oversleep and won't be able to make it on time, I skip it.
